Its different in 2010 E3 because it wasn't known as a "failed MMORPG game", back then they had no worries of people having doubts. Here, in 2012 They are up against a wall.. they need to plan this out delicately or else FFXIV can be in real trouble. So I don;t "blame" SE for taking this route.
I don't blame them either, they're being careful, but still i was honestly hoping for one piece of 2.0
give me just a little peek that is all i ask, like ONE PEEK.

always looking for good people.
They never said they wont show "anything". They're just not showing the trailer.
That's the one thing they said there were going to show...now they said they aren't going to show it. Why do you think they have something else planned? What have they said to make us believe this?
It's more like: "What did they say to make people believe they had nothing else buta trailer planned? I highly doubt when they stated (even in the letter) the absolute only thing they had planned was a trailer that's done by a third party even.
The letter states that they will "Publically reveal 2.0". What that actually entails, is anyone's guess. Someone mentioned that they'll probably just show the PDF files, and I don't see that as very unlikely at all.
If all they have to show are the PDFs that have been available for months now, I will /facepalm so hard that I will knock myself into an alternate dimension where the FFXIV 1.0 launch wasn't a complete failure.
