I'd rather just wait patiently than have something get me all excited and then it's just, you know, some concept art and then the forums erupt in a firestorm of burning stupid, and SE goes "Ha Ha Ha, let's -not- give them bite-sized teasers to keep them interested."

I'm sorry, I understand they have a lot going on but it doesn't take long to write up a few paragraphs to update us.

Production companies that films movies which are set to release in 2013 and 2014 surely have enough scenes filmed to create more than 1 - 2 trailers every 7 months, don't you think?

Seriously, people are impatient yes but E3 period is always scrambling time for game companies. It doesn't take a long time, but it does take a fair bit of time to compile and organize data you take from polls, for multiple regions. Then the data has to be presented, in multiple languages, throw in the fact a major video game convention is right around the corner, don't you think maybe just maybe they're too busy with something more important? No that couldn't be it.

How likely are we to hear no complaints, even if it's a more personal letter without poll results? Since he has been hopping around the world the past few weeks and may want to share that instead, what then?

Yoshi-P can put out the letter when he is ready, IMO... I don't understand this NEED to know it all now-now-now.

He cannot just do everything according to the disjointed and aggressive community's whim.

It's his schedule, his vision, and (even more important than any of that) his ass if the game isn't the success he is working so hard to achieve.

It's a letter... It can wait.

I really wish the forum embraced cool things, even if they weren't always magic rainbows of information. Just makes the devs more likely to pull a XI on us and curl into a shell of saying crap all until patch day.

Unless the surprise was the Doomwall, then again I don't think they held the doomwall til all the pieces were revealed or maybe they did. Then again they didn't even release all the artwork as wallpaper so something got lost in translation there lol.

But for me I'd say it was this post that's been making me wonder what news they are hiding, unless it was just that piece of artwork which would be pretty lame lol. It just seems like they've been very tight-lipped the last fews days it's only natural people will get a bit curious as to what they are keeping secret for a big reveal XD.

Even if not a letter and the poll results, just a simple forum post from the devs saying 'sorry to keep you guys waiting this is whats going on' would be considerate. Even when you're put on hold on the telephone the recording comes on and says 'we apologize for the inconvenience'.... lol It just comes down to good ole' customer service.

Customer service.. lol what SE always has failed in. They love to wait until the very last second (or later from what I've seen with this game thus far) to release info to us. I figured we would have got the results a while ago...doesn't take that long to post it unless they rig it like they did with the BST pet from FFXI. (Anyone else remember that?)

Aion has way better customer service..I forgot my user name and password..within minutes they contacted me in regards to my problem, were very polite and helped me to reset it with their website. With SE you will be waiting for weeks and possibly never get your response.

Yup it's definitely fair to conflate and compare the community team's efforts to keep a discussion going with the playerbase and get information out sooner - a new phenomenon - with either the old paradigm of releasing information in XI, or the account / customer service (which, yes, has historically been disappointing.)

'Customer Service' does not extend to keeping us informed w.r.t. the regularity of Yoshi-P's bowel movements; we aren't entitled to updates when they don't have anything to show us, or producer letters when every moment of Yoshida's time is almost certainly booked well in advance, and the community has shown that when the community team tries to do something fun for us on their own, we respond by biting the hand offering the tantalising treats. Hopefully, they won't decide their grand experiment was a failure, but threads like this don't really give me a lot of hope. We don't -need- producer letters on a schedule, we need a good product and a good presentation at E3 that can effectively counteract the game's stockpile of bad publicity.

E3 prep is crucial to these guys. I'm in no rush when it's just around the corner I expect a letter by the end of the month hopefully with poll results and then we brace ourselves for E3.

I have exhibited at E3 three times in the past, I can guarantee you their "E3 prep" has been done for a while. Next week they will begin building booths and setting up press rooms, but as far as media and stuff they should be long done.
