Hope we're all in for some big surprises cause this lack of anything lately has been mighty offputting :\

I'm with OP. I'm curious to where the new letter is.
Final Fantasy XIV is still a product that is being marketed at customers (us). It'd be nice to have a little more communication in the process. I understand it's close to E3 and what-not, but still, a small announcement that stuff is happening.
I am jonesing for a new letter myself. Getting burnt out on the game. I need some hope for the future

Same here. Haven't touched XIV since i got D3. I got my L50, acceptable armor set, tried most of the new stuff so there isn't much left that would interest me. i need some news of what is in store for us.
Surely one of the biggest conventions regarding the fate of this game takes some precedence over pleasing us.
You've got to think, it DOES have to be translated from Japanese to other languages, and they have to make sure everything is grammatically correct.
Rise Against - TorchesThe angels dance like feathers float, they're here to see and to be seen,
The clock strikes two, the music slows and each one slowly dons their wings,
Once outside they all pair off and hand in hand they leave
But I'm still waiting, yeah, and I'm still waiting
From one extreme to the other? Brilliant. Why does everyone think that writing a letter takes 2000 hours and 10 pple to do? I could write any of the letters he came up so far in 30 min or less.
He could talk about everything because he knows everything. Yet he can only discuss certain topics. What are they, and when? How far can he go without endangering the accuracy of the information? Even if he does all the thinking by himself (which I doubt, more likely there are meetings to discuss the topics of the letter), it will still be validated by a superior/and perhaps a PR guy, tweaked and then translated to three languages. As far as the next letter is concerned, the poll results need to be tallied, distilled (what can we show to the public?) and put together on easy-to-understand charts.
That's not to say that it takes this long to release one, but going from one extreme to the other is just as retarded. It's not dealt with in 30 mins, and it's not just Yoshi-P that works on it. The number is closer to ten than one when even I could think up multiple issues dealt by several people that must be addressed before the letter can even be published.
Pre-E3 is most likely hectic for everyone on the team. Yoshi-P travels, new website is worked on, post-E3 content is worked on, Summer-Fall plans are being put into motion. It's unfortunate to see the letters come so few and far between but it's pretty damn clear to me why that is. Maybe it's not a good excuse but a realistic one.
Not that I want to get all defensive about the lack of letters. I just list the reasons. Just because we don't hear anything doesn't mean there isn't a storm going on at SE HQ.

Pretty sure Yoshida has impact on this game's development. (They are his letters after all)..which goes back to:
Take this advice.
Remember how you people bitched about a more personal letter from the producer that had no game information in it? Yeah exactly, let him work at his pace.
