I never played XI, but maybe they could make Mammet Houses? Mammets are cute tooI could use a personal space too when all the ps3 players finally join

I've never been at max inventory 300/300. Drops and farming is too easy to hoard like that. I will collect a type of thing such as ores or skins to sell otherwise it goes to Pamelle (thx Pam^^).
Sounds as if SE needs to simplify their crafting a bit. Where not so much of an abundance is needed to carry around to make something.
FFXI had a mog house and people still complained about space for about 7 years. I don't know if there recent attempt helped though.

youd be surprised at how wrong this is as far as an abundance of items needed to carry around
when you are crafting, you arent just doing random things, you are usualy focusing on 1-2 items at a time.
If im doing weaving, i carry a ton of flax/linen yarn on me currently. at lower levels, it was cotton yarn/cloth of choice.
if you are doing gear, you are carrying around 5-6 materials, and not in bulk cuz you cant carry bulk gear anyway after you make it.
whats happening though, is some people refuse to vendor anything, or toss anything, and they keep it all no matter how useful or useless it is, in hopes they can use it months and months down the line(even if they wont) and then they wonder why they run out of space.

I'm leveling all classes except for like 5. My retainer has roughly 80 slots free. If you don't have any free space left, you have no one to blame except yourself.
Those whom think 300 spaces is plenty must really be more of a solo type of player. I play every job in the game as do most since we are pretty much forced into it. When I'm grinding or out and about and get items for future crafting, why would I npc it or sell it to another person when I'm like going to have to pay double for it later. Granted I'm not at the point I need these yet, but will be there eventually.
Required Materials to keep as one of the LS Repairer's (Most common items only)
Weaver: cotton fent, canvas fent, velveteen fent, linen fent (4 items)
Goldsmith: brass nuggets, brass squares, silver nuggets, silver squares, electrum nuggets (5 items)
Blacksmith: bronze nuggets, iron nuggets (2 items)
Tanner: sheep leather spetch, buffalo leather spetch, toad leather spetch, boar leather spetch (4 items)
Carpenter: oak/yew/ash/pine/walnut/willow branches (6 items)
Armorer: bronze squares, bronze rings, iron squares, iron rings (4 items)
These are not including the uncommon repair items.
Rare/Important Item Examples: (stuff to keep for later grinding)
Mythril Ore/Nuggets and +3's
Steel Nuggets and +3's
Red Coral, Blue Coral, White Coral and +3's
Gold Ore, Gold Sand, Silver Ore, Silver Sand, Iron Ore, Iron Sand
Radiant Moraines, Moraines, Gemstones (Raw and regular and every HQ version of them)
Walnut Logs, Yew Logs, Oak Logs
Sheepskins, Boar Hides, Karakul skins, Peiste Skins
There are plenty more, just getting tired of typing these things out...
I myself keep things for future LS members who might need gear, usually HQ items of things I might already be done with.
I clean my retainers out about once a week and just npc extra crap that is no longer needed.
There is a need for more space, don't forget the 5+ sets of gear, And weapons/tools/ammo/potions you must keep. This kills off a lot of spaces.
So what if some of us are packrats. I know im a packrat and i wonder not why i run out of space, im well aware. I do want more room because i like collecting stuff in a game..beats filling my livingroom with newspapers no?

I barely fill up 1 retainer. Probably got about 110 items in total. Most of it junk gear for looks

Ok, let me chime in with a bit here
alot of people who are running out of room really are packrats, in the worst sense
I work ALL 19 jobs in the game, thats right all 19
i have around 40 slots free on my character(when im fresh going into field)
and 20 slots on each retainer free at all times
I do keep tons of materials handy that I am going to be working on in the future
I do have 18 bows i am currently selling on both retainers among many other items I want to sell.
The difference between how I packrat and alot of others packrat, is I only keep what i know for a fact I am going to use, and I do not keep stuff that is lower then me unless I need it to make gear to sell for a fact.
in the cases of many items, it is also good to note what the best storage method is
Store logs, not lumber(1 stack of logs is equivilent to 4 stacks of lumber)
store ore, not nuggets(1 stack of ore is same as 2-3 stacks of nuggets depending on which it is)
ALso, using your mats in a timely manner also helps, Saving up enough materials to go from 1-50 before you start on any of them is not very space effective.
Ill give a list of what I have stored later for those curious how you can do all 8 crafts and still have room left for anything else. It will make more sense that way.
Yup, there it is, the plain and simple truth.
Oh, and there are over 15,000 items in FFXI and you have a max of 400 slots if you do all quests and have a security token. When the game goes P2P, you'll have the option of purchasing additional retainers if you're an unreasonable pack rat.
