did SE saying its new concept? yes
do some people have the right to be mad? yes
do some people no care? yes
Will we get over it like everything else SE has done up to this point? yes

Sahagin (German)
Behemoth (Japanese)
Taurus (French)
XXX (English)

wow some people are never happy with anything huh?
sure some of us might have seen the behemoth in their CE book, but guess what, not everyone bought the CE AND the book was not included in the Japanese CE (and its the picture for the Japanese players) so they might not know of it unless they searched the web for every snippet of info.
also what we have is a small print of it, so the reward of the whole campaign, a downloadable high res wallpaper version of each concept art that got cleared is still very cool in my book.
but how is it new for us who have the CE? A download of a pic that that i already paid like 70 dollars for?

"Well, you’ll be pleased to hear that we were able to sweet-talk the development team (don't ask) into sharing intriguing 2.0 concept art with us."
... /conspiracytheorytime
SE knew about 2.0 .... before FFXIV was even released :O

I wouldn't be surprised at this time if this was true lol
But I doubt they planned all the team change and YoshiP and them taking over and Tanaka stepping down.
Unless..... he was really in the back controlling YoshiP and them... just like how the NWO cont...g..and....that...and...that....K.. yeah... (silence).....

Maybe you're not getting it.wow some people are never happy with anything huh?

"We have painstakingly procured all-new concept art from the development team precisely for this purpose" implies the artwork is
1. All-new.
2. Made for this event.
3. Took a lot of effort to do.
4. Directed at all users from every region to see. (the fact that they included links and encourage us to see them speaks volumes for that.)
The fact that they use old art for it means what we where told is not true. It doesn't matter if it's new for Japan, it's not "all-new", not made for this event, and not difficult to include.
As far as we know, we where lied to about that.
People don't like to be lied to.
Being angry about it is a reasonable reaction based on all that we have been told. Any excuses we can give Square are only presumptions until Square comes forward themselves and clears it up for us. Either by being direct and telling us it was a translation error, meant for only a few of the pieces, or just PR hype. Or by revealing that the image has been heavily altered enough to be called "all-new".
Don't act like the complaint is unwarranted and don't act like you're better for defending Square's mistakes. They should be the ones to answer for that, not you.
I get like this seems like a huge overreaction for something as small as some concept art, that it's such a small thing and we should let it slide. I get that and I'm happy for all the new stuff, this event, and the wallpapers we're getting; seems fun, and kudos to the reps and dev team for going through the trouble of making this for us.
But they should not feel like they're allowed to lie to us so freely. That's the real issue. The matter of Square's integrity as a company that's supposed to be more open with information exchange. If it was just a simple translation error, fine, but they need to communicate that with us. They need to hold themselves responsible. Not have fans speculate on why they're not in the wrong.
