5th chest for only unique jobs/classes in party

Would many players be happy if SE made new dungeons and primal fights only drop the 5th chest if there are no job/class duplicates in the party, and no job/class changes allowed mid-way through?

Or what if there was a bonus for parties with only unique jobs/classes that gave a higher drop rate on highly desired gear like Darklight items?

    Benefits:

    - It would discourage class stacking.

    - No class stacking should make things a bit more challenging, which many people seem to want.

    - Less exclusion of certain jobs/classes from parties.

    - Possibly a chance at higher drop rates which many people think is too low as it is now.

    - No focus on speed runs. People will eventually try to get through it as quickly as possible because it's more efficient, but at least you won't be required to do a speed run just to get the last chest.

Note: The 8th party member would probably need to be a class rather than a job in order to avoid duplicates. For example, you could have 1 Warrior and 1 Marauder, or 1 Black Mage and 1 Thaumaturge... but not 2 Warriors, nor 2 Black Mages.

SE took a similar approach with Hamlet defense for having all 3 DoL classes present... why not do something like that with dungeons and primal fights?

It should still be possible to beat the fights. It seems like SE tests the new content with a diverse party since their preview videos never have class stacking. And as we saw with a YouTube example, it is possible to beat Garuda without class stacking.

Why not encourage more party diversity and up the challenge at the same time?

    Note: I posted this in another thread but it was a bit off topic, so I thought it would be better to give it a separate topic. Either that, or everyone just hates the idea. ^^;

Wait how can you not stack classes in an 8 person party with 7 classes available.

WAIT, DO YOU NEED TO HAVE A DoL IN THE PARTY?

    Also, this sounds incredibly silly.

I'm not too keen on this. Your heart is in the right place, but the implementation would force people to go from one extreme (have the "real hero" classes levelled and geared) to the other (have every class levelled and geared just in case).

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

No, that was just an example of what they did with Hamlet defense for DoL participation.

You wouldn't take a DoL or DoH into a dungeon or primal fight... only DoW and DoM.

No, it's incredibly annoying to find people of various class/jobs.

Right now we have freedom, and people want it gone? first world problem, i say. Worst idea ever to solve class stacking.

While I'm a strong proponent for not class stacking and allowing people to play as they want, you also have to be fair and understand that some people class stack because that's how they want to play.

You can't say that your way of playing is any more "right" than someone else's, not matter how much you want to take a certain job to a certain event.

I'll disagree. Class stacking can and should still happen, but as freak ocurrences and provided the essentials are covered in some way. That's the difference between a 25-man raid with 9 paladins with lulz to be had and a raid that is balanced.

What we don't want is WAR, WHMx2, BRD, BLM BLM BLM BLM (which is no different than the raids that stacked Rogues and Shadow Priests for DPS and kicked everyone else to the curb) as the preferred choice.

I'm also in favor of letting people play as they like.

And okay, it's probably a bad idea to make it a requirement for the 5th chest.

What if it just increased the drop rate or gave some other bonus for having diversity in the party?

One of the biggest problems I see are that people figure out the most efficient way to beat a new fight -- which usually involves class stacking the best job against that opponent.

Then after a few days we have lots of people complaining about how everything is too easy and the game is boring again.

Increasing droprate will just force people to go specific party setup because nobody is gonna refuse increased droprate.

They could probably do class/job specific buff when a certain class/job in party, effect of the buff will not stack, so having multiple of same class doesn't benefit you.
