Get rid of the speed runs altogether and make the best rewards dependent on some other factor. Limiting people on what classes they can bring is not the answer.

I would have to say I am not fond of the idea, I would like people to be able to play what they desire.
However having content such as 'this button but be struck with a piercing weapon simultaneously with a person striking that button with white magic for the door to open' sort of puzzle/room would be most fun i think... I guess it is relative ^^
Oh and goodness me do away with speed runs ^^;;;

Why they don't have a performance based point system is beyond me.
You're a DRG? Deal damage for points. Bonus points for critical damage.
You're a PLD? Take damage for points. Bonus points for healing damage.
You're a WHM? Cure damage for points. Bonus points for dealing magic damage.
And so on and so forth.
Artificially forcing inclusion is just indicative of bad design and I don't support it, but yes I would like to see better class balance so this happens naturally
I still say as before. Just give achievement for people who win it with no duplicated classes. But no need to go that far as to force players do this every run.

Okay. Unpopular idea.
People will naturally gravitate towards the easiest or most efficient way of accomplishing something. Very few people willfully choose the more difficult path. It's just our nature.
Does perfect job balance ever exist? There will always be certain classes that have advantages against certain enemies. So people will likely want to stack those jobs for that fight.
If no one wants to have an actual incentive to bring along different jobs, then I guess we should expect class stacking as the norm for most end game content... and hopefully people will stop complaining when it happens.
Honestly the best thing to me would be lock classes once you enter like hamlet. If you did av now would you really want 3-4 blms all the way thru for the miser fight? I think if they did that it would let ppl see a different side to the content. I honestly wish SE would stop thinking one shot kills = hard. They could easily make so that mobs can do aoe but of ppl are getting hit too much it in turn makes the whm have lots hate which could mess up the fight. They really need to get rid of the one shot mechanics they seem to love.
They need to give the lesser used classes/jobs something that makes them stand out. That really is the biggest problem currently. SE has acknowledged some of the issues so far, just gotta wait for 1.22b and see how it is all actually implemented.
Class stacking is not necessary for any content, its a community issue not a design issue. So man up and do the content how you want to and stop trying to get SE to design content in a way that forces others to play that way. We dont class stack its our choice but I like that we can if we so choose to.
primals only drop 1 chestWould many players be happy if SE made new dungeons and primal fights only drop the 5th chest if there are no job/class duplicates in the party, and no job/class changes allowed mid-way through?
Or what if there was a bonus for parties with only unique jobs/classes that gave a higher drop rate on highly desired gear like Darklight items?
Benefits:
- It would discourage class stacking.
- No class stacking should make things a bit more challenging, which many people seem to want.
- Less exclusion of certain jobs/classes from parties.
- Possibly a chance at higher drop rates which many people think is too low as it is now.
- No focus on speed runs. People will eventually try to get through it as quickly as possible because it's more efficient, but at least you won't be required to do a speed run just to get the last chest.
Note: The 8th party member would probably need to be a class rather than a job in order to avoid duplicates. For example, you could have 1 Warrior and 1 Marauder, or 1 Black Mage and 1 Thaumaturge... but not 2 Warriors, nor 2 Black Mages.
SE took a similar approach with Hamlet defense for having all 3 DoL classes present... why not do something like that with dungeons and primal fights?
It should still be possible to beat the fights. It seems like SE tests the new content with a diverse party since their preview videos never have class stacking. And as we saw with a YouTube example, it is possible to beat Garuda without class stacking.
Why not encourage more party diversity and up the challenge at the same time?
Note: I posted this in another thread but it was a bit off topic, so I thought it would be better to give it a separate topic. Either that, or everyone just hates the idea. ^^;
also you basically saying that you shouldn't have more then 2 of one job which to me is the same as saying you have to have x job.
