Unfortunately, I don't think they can be banned. Until these people actually try to sell gil (which probably won't be until 2.0 at least) they aren't actually doing anything against the terms of service.![]()
thats the problem.
you know what they are going to do, but until the crime is commited, they wont be banned. and its understandable, after all, who wants to be banned on suspicion without proof, doing so opens up an even worst floodgate

You would be surprised go type "FFXIV buy gil" and see how many RMT sites exist for FFXIV....
I don't see why anyone would want to buy gil in FFXIV anyways but they do actually sell gil already... I want to see what kind of people actually buy them lol
I think the issue is its hard to prove they are botting. I know I see them there all the time because that is where I'm currently doing mining leves but I never see them do anything, they are just standing there.
Exactly! then one of them will randomly level up! There's one in my screen if you look at the text that is leveling up... What are they up too ::Conspiracy::
The other mules are just standing to increase shard/crystal/fleece drops so they really don't need to do anything other than the one guy that repeats the faction leve kill karakul > quit the leve before boss kill & repeat.
Could fall under exploit but not sure if above is what they are actually doing, just my guess.
If they are using a third party software to spam these 'zombie' player chars, I think thats against the tos...

Yep, since if they take action on this, they'd have to take action of people who use alt accounts to farm Toto-Rak for seals, since it's essentially the same thing. The RMT that does this aren't usin speed hacks or anything of the sort so they really aren't breaking any rules..just running multiple characters (which is technically against the ToS but as said people do it for Toto-Rak farming since people hate sharing.)
Until they start pos hackig, that's when action will be taken against them since for now, SE knows about the problem but they do have higher priorities and will probably go headfirst into dealing with RMT after.
