Be sure to invite me on your hamlet runs . . . my LS abhors them.I really do hope that it requires both the 3 seals and the key item for every AF weapon so people will specialize more into their job of choice instead of everyone having everything. Again. It's certainly possible to get everything still but I don't think everyone will be willing to get 175,000 seals just for all the AF weapons. AF Armor was a lot easier since it was just questlines, these actually take a bit of work.
And I'm very happy that they do take a bit of work. Granted it's not that much work (if the level 2 bosses drop the items that is, not sure how hard level 5 bosses would be), but still enough that it looks like it'll be a small accomplishment that for once DIDN'T depend entirely on luck to obtain.
Also I'm going to be really really sad if the WHM AF weapon has nuking stats on it.

I'd be completely fine with gc leves if I didn't have to sit through an entire 15 min for seals. Defending an npc is just so boring.
The gc leves that ask you to use an emote on enemies, though, I love because it only takes me a few minutes to finish for seals. I want more gc leves to be like that.
At the very least, I want totorak to be soloable.

It depends on the grind. If groups were much easier to find and lv50 players were not basically forced (for efficacy's sake) to spam a lv25 dungeon for seals, I doubt we would be having these many complaints. The way this is set up would be like if Dead Mines was the most efficient way to get Justice/Valor Points and people thus soloing that instead of using dungeon finder to clear dungeons back to back.
Of course, the complaints here make me think the devs are more likely to nerf the amount of seals in Toto-rak rather than increasing seal gains in other activities. Seal acquisition does need to be rebalanced, though.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

If all this speculation ends up being true then I'm sure the AF weapons aren't intended to be for everyone (just like the relic weapons from XI). There are plenty of other very good alternatives that less dedicated players can work towards, it's not like you'll be utterly useless.
Personally, I'm perfectly content with a GC or primal weapon and won't even attempt any of this.

pls note to SE:
Dear SE..... we want AF's WEAPONS....... not RELIC.........
why they have to put a 25k seals item on a thing is just suposed to be a quest.... is not meldable or soemthing usefull on the endgaming soo just give us the damn AF and focus on next patch pls....
ty <3 Yoshida-p........ sorry

Uh, well, they better get the f*** over it unless they want to get dust in their eyes.

I'm all for Relic weapon style weapons.

I'm all for a dev response as to why the weapons were skipped over in 1.22a...
This game is not WoW; if you want WoW, go play WoW. If you get butthurt when people mention Final Fantasy XI, then shut up about WoW.As much as it might hurt you, and as much as someone else brings the balance issues up, FFXI had the jobs right. And, you know, this is a FF, and I don't see you guys complaining about people asking for WoW things. So please.
Also, it's not like this dev team is being true to the roots of the jobs anyway.
