I really do hope that it requires both the 3 seals and the key item for every AF weapon so people will specialize more into their job of choice instead of everyone having everything. Again. It's certainly possible to get everything still but I don't think everyone will be willing to get 175,000 seals just for all the AF weapons. AF Armor was a lot easier since it was just questlines, these actually take a bit of work.

And I'm very happy that they do take a bit of work. Granted it's not that much work (if the level 2 bosses drop the items that is, not sure how hard level 5 bosses would be), but still enough that it looks like it'll be a small accomplishment that for once DIDN'T depend entirely on luck to obtain.

Also I'm going to be really really sad if the WHM AF weapon has nuking stats on it.

That may be true, but I feel like we are at a once in a genre crossroads. We, as a gaming community have to decide what an MMO really is. This doesn't just apply to FFXIV - though it surely does apply to it as well - but to all MMOs. As a genre, we are going through an identity crisis. Are MMOs a game where you can pick something up, play it for an hour or two, then as easily put it down as so many discarded socks? Or are they the type of game where only through dedication and, yes, tedious hours of play with many like-minded individuals can you accomplish something?

There is nothing wrong with either approach, and I would argue that companies would make about the same amount of money either way at this point, but we need to come to a decision. Just like not everyone like first-person shooters, or real-time strategy, it is unreasonable for MMO developers to continue to try to encompass the entirety of the market under a single game or even a single genre.

Lets not jump to conclusions. But remember you ain't worthless even without AF weapons, they need to add content which can challenge more hardcore players. At the same time you cannot expect to get awsome loot without putting any effort to it.

Only thing I got aginst is 8 man groups onry. Which dosen't even let people who play above avg to even have a try due to they are forced to have a community around them of a given size.

i find it funny you wont do this, but youll run said boss 500 timers in a row probly do get the piece of gear you want from him over in diablo

And this is why GW2 will prevail, because content scales, and you can do solo or with 200 people, even those required with lots, it scales for the members, in XIV you need a hardcore 8 members or its gtfo lol.

lol guys this is just speculation on my part you should just chill out, but it could be high chance this is the way to do it. If it is true they found a way to force ppl to do hamlet and i doubt that these coins will drop 100% since they can stack to 99.
