FF14 mobile was NOT done by SE. It was overseen by SE to make sure their brand name is not damaged. They had a few interesting stuff in there. Hopefully SE takes inspo from.

SE management is embarrasing

Website says Square Enix right on it and they advertized it heavily in 2024 before falling mysteriously silent.Damn... you should start a youtube channel with the amount of click baiting and misinformation in your thread.

Here is the important part, SE and Tencent ended the licensing deal between the two of them, from the webpage:
Due to adjustments in business operations and changes in the market environment, Tencent and Square Enix have, through amicable negotiation, decided to terminate the licensing agreement for FINAL FANTASY XIV MOBILE (Chinese Edition).
The game underperformed and did not do well, players they had started to leave. It appears that a slow burn MMO with little to no gatcha will not do well in their market. I also suspect that the user interface they created did not port the live action MMO as much as they would have hoped.
I came here expecting another BRSRKRR thread.
Left disappointed.
Could we at least get some of the unique stuff they had such as hairstyles?

It was crazy how they didn't have the foresight to realize that releasing a non-P2W mobile game in a country that absolutely loves P2W would've been a bad idea.
