It could be interesting to finally see the twins look older. Change of clothes. Change of hairstyles.

Easy agree on this for sure. It seems like such a surface level thing, but it would actually help so much if they at least looked older. And the hair desperately needs an update. I generally like Ali quite a bit as a character but when she whines about people confusing her for Alphi I just want to hand her a mirror for once. It's like we get it, they're twins, but that doesn't mean they need to still look like each other now. They're not 4 year olds getting dressed by their mom (well, except they kind of do just get dressed by their mom I guess which is an issue all of of it's own).

We're told that elezen tend to stay young-looking for a while, then have very abrupt growth spurts into maturity. If we could leave the twins behind while jumping to another shard, where the flow of time has been established to be different from the Source, it'd be a great opportunity for a time skip for them to grow up.

I'd be happy to leave the Scions on the Source and get a completely new party that aren't lore-dumping nerds. Would also be nice to get characters from different races. (Still salty our roe representation got axed with Moenbryda.)

I was hoping them going their own separate way to Garlicmart during post EW would've been the perfect time for that. But alas... lol

The scions will always be there, always be fine and always be in a complete stasis except the occasional wardrobe change.
FFXIV doesn't make decisions based on story or lore, they do it based on marketability and merchandising.

The teaser where they already shown Estinien and Alp in the Fourth with WoL says otherwise.

The DT trailers showed a lot of scions enjoying Tuliyolol, so I wouldn't take that as anything definitive or indicative.

However the old woman does mention the traveler and his friends? and at the end she calls the WoL "Our Wanderer" so always possible I suppose.
