Stalking and Harassment, GM/Square Enix Refusal to act

The game has literally ZERO privacy as is, there's literally a site to see linkshells/cwls you're in and who else is in them, along with one's you have been in and aren't in anymore, blacklisting and unfriending do nothing either, it's the only MMO i've seen that's THIS bad with it

I was """bothered""" by player in HW/SB when I was still playing in NA dc. I wasn't the only victim they had.

I feel oddly lucky by the fact that the problem player was japanese.

When they did their stupidest stunt+threatened me, I filed report like I had done many times before. But this time it was alarming situation enough that the NA mods got JP mod to handle the situation.
They ended up earning themselves non-permanent ban, and then later legit permaban after running back to JP datacenter and being general pain there.
I don't now if JP mods have different attitude about these things, but it sure as heck feels like it.

Yeah the blacklisting function is pretty awful as it stands and I wish they'd improve it but I don't see that happening anytime soon, if ever.
Not that it would even fix the problem being talked about here since it seems like the people supposed to be handling situations like this have really dropped the ball.
I sincerely hope that things have since improved from the initial post.

Reviving this thread to say that they are as awful as ever when it comes to actually enforcing rules against stalking. We've had the same people show up at our door for about 2 months soon. At least 30+ reports filed, GMS said they'll ask the player to stay away but dont do anything when said player shows up yet again. It's a losing battle.

Can I ask does blacklisting not help? As in you won't see them on your game, right?

They can still play bard music and be heard even when you got them blocked. They can still leave messages in the FC book and we can only ban them from the house 10 days at a time before you need to refresh it. They've said many things in languages other than english to get around the moderation system.

Make sure the estate rightsholders to the FC have the checkbox next to their name ticked on--that way, people on their blacklists will be automatically re-added to the barred characters list should they try to re-enter the house. If that's not working correctly, then report it as a bug, because it should prevent people on the rightsholders' blacklists from ever successfully entering the house. I think it stops people from walking on the property, too, but not sure about writing in FC guestbooks, but they should never have access to it.

Weird that it's not stopping you from hearing bard music though! That seems like it would be a bug worth reporting.

That doesn't seem right at all. I can't see any reason why it why it shouldn't work the same way for FCs; the in-game documentation doesn't say anything about private estates and FCs working differently. May be worth figuring out where it's breaking and bug report it. Maybe I'll see if my FC lead has time to poke at it with me so we can see if we can bug report it too.
