    Escaping the FFXIV Bronze Hell

Hey there, I am a new PvP player and I have noticed some stuff where you might climb easier from Bronze to Gold.
I started at Bronze and made it to Diamond and it was frustrating, and I will explain why and why I did not want to continue.

When I started at Bronze, the teams were random. Even if you are good, it will not help you, if you 1.) do not have enough time 2.) do not have any luck
For example if you are in a Team where only one person is good. The other Team has four good persons. You will lose.

Some class constellations are unfair, for example a team that has a GNB, WHM, MCH, DRG etc. and the other Team something like SCH, RDM, DNC etc. the second team will lose if the first team is not very bad. Classes like SCH are bad for low ranks, because most people do not know how to play correctly in low ranks and usually run into suicide, in a 1v5 fight.

Or you get into a team that has real Bronze 3 players who cannot do much, and you are already Gold 1 and will lose vs a full Silver team.

Once you reach Platinum, you will see the same players in your matches (probably like around 20?) again and again. I do not know for the other countries, as I am playing on EU the server with the lowest PvP population. While ranking up, I was always getting the same players.

There are also "Carry" classes in the low ranks:

    * VPR - a lot unexperienced players will attack the VPR while he has scales and then he damages them & gets HP from it
    * GNB - similar to VPR, a lot of new players will waste their skills into the GNB while they do no harm to him
    * SAM - also similar, but with reflect (weaker)

these classes are good to bait your opponents, so they will waste ressources and attack you, while your team can do the rest and you help your ranged teammates with it.

Once you reach Platinum, you can only queue with Gold and Diamond players, and they are "smarter", so you cant just hide with VPR scales or making people attack you on GNB

I made a list for climbing from Bronze to Gold and remember, even if you lose, you need time and patience then you will rank up higher and damage scores means nothing, because sometimes a whole team targets one person constantly, or the other team is not doing well, for example the melees not pushing forwards and letting the ranged die.

I will continue in my next post, because this text is too long for a single post.

This list is only from Bronze to Gold, not above. There are harder classes like NIN (brain class) or MNK (internal timer class) which you have to learn

    Best classes:
    VPR, GNB, SAM

    Still good classes:
    DRG, MCH, PCT, SMN

Good classes but worser than above:
WHM, AST, MNK (internal timer class you've to learn), RPR, BRD

    OK but solid classes:
PLD, RDM, WAR (be careful on war, as you might get attacked first), SAGE

    worser than OK:
    DNC

Need brainpower and a good team, then they can be beasts:
    NIN, BlM, DrK

    Useless in lower ranks:
    SCH

I hope this helps some people to climb and to get out of Bronze Hell

This list is based on my personal experience, you can tell me your opinion about it if you want or what you have experienced in your matches

I have little problems with targetting, as I am playing on the Steam Deck and playing on a small screen. Increasing my fps from 30 to 60 oder 80 increased the play feeling altough it barely do anything against the lag I experienced. (Healing too slowly or Purify etc. or skills not reacting, but I think I am not the only one with this issue)

Even at 80 ping, people running behind me get potion on field, the chocobo buff on tornado map, and samurais 1 shotting through walls, and etc etc etc, the worst experience to do in FF14 for loot because of course, lock away nice looking armors in a mode where is not enjoyable, but thanks. I'll do my best every match, suffering all the way to crystal.

Nothing enjoyable about PvP in ff14, nothing.

Try this simple trick to see the internal server lag: Get on the jump pads after spawn gates open, and be the first there by a huge lead, yet watch all your teammates fly first and land first that is the ugly truth about ff14, what you see on your screen is a potential future that can be taken away or changed at any moment by the server seconds behind you. Dont assume what you see on screen is ever accurate.

Purify is also now only 2 seconds of immunity on a 4 second cooldown so good luck against an enemy comp thats CC heavy, just throw up guard as soon as you purify and then get ready to purify as soon as guard comes off as you sprint to a potion lol. And then hide until guard is back up since their stunlock nuke rotation is back up way faster than your guard is. Thats pretty much all you can do to not be a feeder if they all decide to look your direction. Just pray your teammates understood the assignment and took advantage of it.

Ive never seen a pvp season where white mage CC spam was actually so scary

I think it would make more sense if someone used Purify, it would make them 4 seconds immune to any kind of debuffs, the same with shield, it lasts 4 seconds but it should not be broken by any skills. That would take away a lot frustration about playing this mode.
