I don't know what their intentions were when they made these changes, but it certainly wasn't to encourage better play or increase interest, did the exact opposite for me actually. Premades were already difficult enough to play around while still having enjoyable or viable matches, now its just impossible because there's no stopping or even catching up to a permanent BH5 wall that will always outplay me unless my team has the better premade. I can get stomped or I can be spoon-fed, but I personally DO NOT MATTER towards the outcome so it doesn't matter what I do anymore.
Playing paladin, monk, even bard if you actually use your abilities. You can be disruptive and make a difference for your team. I queue solo and as part of a premade teams. It is infinitely harder to win, when we are stacked with players like you, who just give up and dont make any effort. Playing against premades on solo queue, yes, it is 100% possible to disrupt them.

But sure, give up and blame premades

Giving up is the only viable choice when it doesn't matter what I'm doing anyway. I was never a factor when I was trying before, and I'm even more pointless after the BH change. Absolutely nothing is lost by me half-assing it from now on.

I've tried other jobs, but it didn't make any difference, so I just queue as whatever now and try not to die.

You know, I once trained someone in here that would freeze at the prospect of fighting an opponent in melee range. Spent a good couple of hours with them. I'd throw common jobs at them in the duelling ring, and get them to look at the skills. I'd ask them questions each time I engaged and got their answer back. It was like a therapy session more than anything heh, as I was trying to fine-tune their response to me each time to something more realistic. I have no idea how or why they were so perturbed by melee players getting in their face, considering other games they'd played, but that was the case.

Eventually, they were doing the Feast and not just Frontlines. At least 8v8. As a MCH. They didn't complain about melee players since after that. In many respects that player reminds me of you, since they were wrangling with feelings of persistent uselessness and shame. I hope you find someone that you can actually trust to be able to spend the time with you and help you believe you can actually turn those kinds of situations around, if that's not readily coming from yourself. The PvP minigame gets more entertaining once you have some confidence, trust me. Even if circumstances can get... a little strange, sometimes.

(This all said without having yet tried the new system though. /disclaimer)

I'd like to skip the current savage and step into the coming ultimate because I cba with the tedium of the current PvE for long and don't care for the Arcadion one bit, yet I just really want to face off with a harder Kefka and co. Alas, we don't always get what we want. Especially a want that is pretty niche and unlikely to be obliged when there's the majority who will be willing to do the busywork and enjoy it (maybe/hopefully), and why should it be? Some content is not for everyone. Why should the rewards associated with that mode be available any other way in those cases?
