Is your friend named Oxymoron?
lt is pretty sad that the only thing you can come up with is insult

I agree, the 7.5 pacing was on point. Just keep in mind there will be 7.55 to double the size of the MSQ though.

I don't really understand this. If someone cares enough about the story that they decided to quit over DT MSQ, isn't jumping in partway through the new arc without understanding how we got there worse? The way we're getting to Evercold doesn't make any sense unless you've played through DT.To me, if the assumption is right that players are going to come back for evercold after how many months of stop playing during dawntrail, then a story skip is kind of mandatory. As I would say there is plenty who were playing during like 7.0 and 7.1 and decided to quit, maybe temporarily or permanetly, and that they don't want to deal with a perceived slog of an expansion.
The MSQ is why I stopped playing this game.

Okay, fine. But please improve New Game+
It drives me nuts that it locks you out of so much while in older MSQ and it has one save file, so you can't, say, replay the latest patch unless you wholesale delete the current chapter you have on NG+. The current way to replay older story is so cumbersome that making an alt actually feels more convenient.
But a new player wanting to be able to immediately play with their friends while going back to MSQ on their time seems to be a really common request.

Right after the new expansion comes out, they should add MSQ skip item for those that don't give a care about it.
As a right now though players are bored at a level 30 ish if not before and just permaquit the game. The amount of new players that stick with the game only drops.Level and story skips for new players? Seems like a good way to make them bored and leave before their free month is over because "everything is done" and the only thing they have to look forward to is sitting in PF for hours waiting for hardcore content to happen (assuming they even want to do it).
If the story is so good, why does story skip never leaves bestsellers of FFXIV Store?
l have a friend who tried it. he enjoyed getting to floor 200 in potd, then he quit because he doesn't want to deal with the huge wall of single player content. if he had the option to skip, there would have been more likelihood that he stayed.
I personally stayed in the game only because I happen to get lucky enough to win a skip in a random discord giveaway like 6 years ago. At a level 10 I started to skip cutscenes and dialogues and by the time I reached level 25 ish of MSQ I already decided that I do not want to proceed with the game at all. Now though, 3 expansions later I have never stopped my subscription and since then brought SE a little over $1000 in sub and dlc costs.
Never regret my choices. I went back and did the story some time ago, concluded that if I didn't do it I'd not have lost much. Never read any alliance raid stories, skipped pandaemonium and arcadion stories too, I just don't care. Now it's patch 7.5 and last time I read anything about story was like 7.1 ish.
If the story is so good, why does story skip never leaves bestsellers of FFXIV Store?
