    Evolved modes NEEDS options.

Hello! I'm going to start off by saying I'm actually a fan of the evolved mode from what I've seen so far, I do have concerns about healers but today I will not be discussing that as I have another concern and I hope they do eloborate further on.

This concern is the lack of custom toggles! and what I mean about this is the ability to separate skills if you want on a job, While yes I can always go "reborn mode" I think not doing as much damage and missing out on cool things such as counter attacks for me makes it not a option

    Here's some examples.
Attack combos: i think I personally like pressing different buttons so having the toggle to put the different attack combos as different inputs is much needed.

Changing skills: Some I'm fine with such as Provoke becoming shirk on allies (though people who want the toggle it should be a option) but I think a skill like clemency I really think for solo content it will feel odd having to target myself off the fly, another example is shield bash being on shield lob, I don't want to accidently press shield bash when I meant to press shield lob but i was in range.

Please consider customizability for people like me who are fine with more buttons but really want to play in evolved mode.

Agreed, I have the same concerns on some of these consolidations, I will shirk on accident if the buttons are the same and I prefer having them separate, evolved has already shrunk down the amount of buttons by a ton so it leaves space for players to split skills apart again without fear of bloat.

I also want to add that the consolidation of low blow and interject is a bad move and to be blunt, stupid. While the two can be used interchangeably that does not mean they are, stunning a foe and interjecting specific attacks/spells might seem the same but for foes that can be both stunned and has attacks you can interject it's way better to have both options separate. (I'm also thinking about how this would affect deep dungeons)

I'd say to move back on this choice fully, but if a option to split them as well can be added then it would work great for more casual (those who use the moves interchangeably and do not mind the fusion, to be specific) and those who like me think around these skills more.

Yep. I'm not really concerned with the new mode overall even if I'm curious as to how it will force change on a few specific jobs. But even on the jobs I feel will be perfectly fine with it, I really want there to be options in input choice. If I want to keep my 123 combo as a 123, I should be able to do that (even if it functionally changes nothing). If I want to be able to have Shield Bash and Shield Lob on different buttons, I should be able to do that (again, even if it actually changes nothing functionally). Etc. That's one of the benefits of playing on PC with a full MKB setup or the use of some other extended devices, and it should be respected.

This isn't just about "liking" to have each combo step on a different hotkey, them all being on the same key actively messes up muscle memory at least in my case.
It makes it harder to track where you actually are in your combo when it's all just a single button and because your muscle memory becomes unreliable you end up having to stare at your hotbar all the time.

Having to target yourself with certain skills to access their alternative function wouldn't be such an issue if the macro system had proper action queing. With the gaping holes we now have in our hotbars you could easily just make a macro for self-targeting Holy Spirit (or whatever it will be called) if this didn't also make the ability infinitely more clunky to execute. Same with Provoke/Shirk, where you really don't want to mess up the targeting.

Agreed! I'm a silly bean who likes the 1, 2, 3 combo even if pressing 1, 1, 1 is simple id still like the option as I play on pc and don't really struggle for space. That and merged skills being freely toggled would actually go for a long way for evolved mode.

I think the key on getting most people on board with evolved mode is making sure that we have options, I'll be really happy if they do let us have these sorts of choices on how we play, I do have some hopes as theirs some skills in the current game such as goring blade which can be separated from FOF so here's hoping.

If you want still be able to press 123 for the combo you could just put the same combo on 1, 2 and 3 and just press them accordingly instead of pressing 111.

I mean yes but like I rather them be separate buttons lol. Like I get what you are saying but that kind of just defeats the purpose in my head of wanting to feel like I am pressing different buttons even if I could turn on a mode that makes it one button.

I know from your perspective it might be a silly request but I like pressing my 1, 2, 3s and would like the buttons blanked out and unable to be pressed; sure most sane people will just press 1 but I like pressing more then just 1.

Yes, seconding this. They should give players the option to split skills if they want to.

Esp. the concerns about consolidating different utilities into the same skill should be addressed.

(I also like pressing different buttons for 1,2,3. It may sound silly but it just feels "powerful". Like an actual "evolution" of my skills. First I get to press the small button, now the slightly bigger button and now the big button. It makes that one button feel like The Important button. It's really stupid psychology and I know it's not Tekken-level comboing but it's just really satisfying to me lol.)

I am wanting some skills merged and some not for me so I really do hope we just have options. Unless they make macros better (even then macros can be kinda annoying to set up rather then just pressing stuff in your job actions tab).

Exactly you get my silly brain with the combo part xD Its just something I really like and I know others do. I'm someone who doesn't mind if the optimal way to play isn't that I think auto combo is actually pretty good for new players but my brain would much prefer it in a similar way to current with it being optional. I think I'll get used to it eitherway but it is something I'd much prefer
