Fix the Housing!!!

People like you who have more than one toon buying things up ruin it for everyone. Housing should be ACCOUNT bound like other things. Your account get the house for personal.
I have seen threads of people bragging about owning 3+ Houses.

Given all characters across an account cannot actually share the house, esp when ones are on other servers. There's nothing wrong with having houses on alts. Even those few people buying up FC smalls for sub farm reasons (which should be dealt with) aren't stopping someone determined enough to get themself a house. Plenty plots on many worlds go through lotto phase with 0 bids. Hell that's how I got the houses for my alts, I think every single plot they won was with 0 competition including mansions and medium plots. Cause I went for plots last minute that ppl hadn't bid on. That's the plan for my chaos alt in the next bidding phase to get her FC house sorted.

If you're on a crammed server it can be rough to get a plot, but you still have access to housing in some form. And if it was your main joy in the game you'd just server hop or some such. Maybe one day we can get an instanced ward and keep the current wards on top, who knows. It'd be nice but I don't hold my breathe on it happening.

SE has become greedy, They have partnered up with Nintendo to give players FFXIV for switch 2. Nintendo is charging SE a fee to have the game on its system. SE passes the fee off to its players. So no you have to pay for a subscription to have a subscription. SE is going down the tube man. This game needs to ether Die or given to a different team that understands that gamers are what keep your game running. respect us or we will leave. then again FFXIV player base IS dying.... wonder why

Where exactly do you get that from? You have no proof at all that SE is passing off the fee. It could well be Nintendo refused to allow people to use their online services without getting something out of it, i.e. the sub price at least. And given subbed players get 50% off it might be that SE is actually giving up their slice of the pie and the remaining 50% of the sub fee is going straight to Nintendo. You either pay an extra few £ a month if you're already subbed, which while not great it's not a huge cost. Or if you wanna play switch only you pay the normal sub cost which is also fine. The fact they managed to get Nintendo to drop the online sub to their service being needed is great, they must've been negotiating for quite some time. Nintendo is notorious for being greedy too.

As for SE becoming greedy. Have you never looked at the cost of any merch on their store in the past several years? The company has always been money hungry, like most corporate entities. But it's unfair to claim they are passing us the cost when they clearly spent time in negotiations for the players benefit.

Housing in XIV is not perfect but it has definite positives over others, actually I think the wards would be fantastic if they could tackle sub farms eating up a lot of space on some FC wards. Maybe shove in some mini games playable in the ward areas so they have some communal spaces people might wanna hang out in outside their home or immediate yard area. Let's also not pretend that WoW's housing isn't already being used to milk its players, they added a whole new paid currency to do it even.

The largest complaint I see from people engaged in housing these days is the desire to get a bigger house, which they have said they will add the housing mirage in future. Outside of that most servers don't have a housing shortage. I got my chaos alt her private house first try and it's one of the beach front cottages in mist which imo are pretty cute. And once it can become a mansion on the inside it's gonna be awesome and I suspect more people will want one of those plots for it's view outside.


Also OP, complaining about needing to level a crafter to decorate your island? What do you think you're gonna need to do when you get a house?! So many housing items need a high level crafter to be made or else you need to buy it... same as you would the island. Anyway, best of luck on your future bids.
