I don't think the OT's listed are going to be pure OT's, but rather just perform better as them. Most shield/shield or pure/pure comp parties don't function as well due to mitigation and regeneration not being able to stack, but an OT/OT comp in 8.0 seems to only run into the issue of a few mits not stacking, which is already the case with the current tank balance as seen with reprisal. It's too early to tell but I think OT/OT parties will still be able to function unless they lock damage/lb gen around a perfect comp

Pretty much this. Based on what we are seeing, Paladin-Evolved being supposedly "Main Tank" actually retains all the actions what makes it a phenomenal off-tank of today. Holy Sheltron button from what I heard actually produces Intervention when aiming at an ally, Divine Veil + Passage of Arms are also present and Cover is kinda baked into Intervene somehow (PVP-style cover). And the retaliation attacks showcased might also be proccing off Intervention's set of effects rather than just Holy Sheltron.

Another probability is that what they are calling these sub-roles is actually just really bad naming convention and has nothing to do for what is our definition of Main Tank & Off-Tank in the first place.
