There's SOME commercial evidence that ARR is being redubbed for Mobile with the current voice cast in English.

So that might be how we get other language support. Especially since that versions being built for other markets that prefer mobile gaming, and most don't speak English

The amount of ignorant nonsense coming out of people's mouth is insane.

"Spanish speaking countries cant afford subs" despite what United States propaganda may teach you they are not in fact all poor. Regional pricing can be issued to developing nations

"If they wanted to add it they would have done so years ago" actually considering they had to rush arr out to appease the 1.0 disaster i doubt they had time. Spanish is like top 3 most spoken languages far exceeding French or German usage.

Im another American player who only fluently speaks one language but im ashamed of the ignorant bashing of people asking for a Spanish dub. Let's remember the super bowl this year and at least tolerate other languages even if we dont plan to learn them. Tho united states citizens could really benefit from better reading comprehension and try to atleast learn part of another language. The language classes in us schools are given way too late in my opinion. Spanish and whatever other common languages should
Be available to learn in pre school amd elementary not just high school. Young children are much better at retaining and learning new words and phrases than teens and adults.

I don’t know exact figures but isn’t Spanish one of the most spoken languages in the world? Like in the top 4-5 at least? Surely that alone would mean a Spanish translation would probably result in profit because they’d potentially be reaching so many people they otherwise might never have, I’d have thought.

I mean it does seem a little unfair for them to say ‘just learn a different language’ when it’s such a commonly used one. That’s not to underplay how massive an undertaking localizing into other languages can be, but surely it would be worth the effort long term? Like I don’t see much reason for them not do it

I’m literally for any other language other than the ones supported now. I saw a post on the lodestone that got my hopes up, but only to find that it was for German.

In comparison to Blizzard, Blizzard Support provides assistance in multiple languages, with primary support in English (US/EU), Spanish (Spain/Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), French, German, Russian, Italian, Korean, and Chinese (Simplified/Traditional).

It’s amazing this has not happened yet, while Square Enix competition is already a decade ahead of the language support game…

Also, Lucky Bancho’s Census is really giving an indicator that the player base is at least changing, if not declining, and more language support might be one of the best solutions to adding more players to FF14.

There are both Chinese and Japanese companies willing to help with this issue.

Yes*, there are several Japanese companies capable of providing *translation and customer support services* for video games like Final Fantasy XIV under corporate-rate pricing models.
These companies specialize not only in game localization but also in meeting Japan’s high standards for service quality. They offer end-to-end solutions, including text translation, cultural adaptation, voice localization, Language Quality Assurance (LQA), and the establishment of player-facing customer support systems.
Below are some of the leading providers with relevant capabilities:
    1. *Digital Hearts Co., Ltd.*
A top-tier Japanese firm focused on game localization and quality assurance.
Services: *Game translation, LQA, QA, multilingual customer support*
Expertise: Full-platform coverage (console, PC, mobile), with strong capabilities in translating from Japanese into multiple languages
Strength: A team of over 300 native-speaking gaming specialists ensures linguistic naturalness and cultural relevance
Official page: Digital Hearts Localization Services
    2. *Ukiyo Studios*
Specializes in game localization and publishing support for the Asian market, particularly Japan.
Services: *Japanese localization, voice dubbing, narrative polishing, customer support localization consulting*
Notable: Has worked on the Japanese release of multiple well-known indie titles and understands the cultural context of franchises like Final Fantasy
Support: Can help set up a Japan-facing customer service system and offers “Rewrite/Polish” services to align dialogue with local expression norms
    Official site: Ukiyo Studios Services
    3. *Anno (Specialized in Game Localization)*
Although a Chinese company, Anno has a significant presence in the Japanese market and access to a large pool of native Japanese linguists.
Services: *Translation in 40+ languages, voice localization, app and game UI localization, customer support content translation*
Team: Over 2,000 native expert translators, including professionals formerly employed by major Japanese game studios (e.g., Yutaro Nishimura)
Advantage: Excels at translating complex cultural references, lyrics, and poetic dialogue—ideal for the literary-style text in FF14
    Website: Anno Game Localization
All of these companies offer services on a *project-basis or corporate-rate model*, making them suitable for long-term collaboration. If you're supporting a continuously updated title like Final Fantasy XIV, we recommend choosing a vendor with integrated *LQA, customer support content localization, and multilingual project management* capabilities.

And yes, I know Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail was worked on by Digital Hearts, but I think they could also be a great help in adding more language support like Blizzard.

    $80,000 (Full Translation per Language)

Based on community analysis of the script:
    * Total Main Story (2.0-7.1): 1,259,754 words.
    * Total Script (Including Side Content):Estimates suggest the total, including all job quests and side quests, likely exceeds 2 million words.

    Source: https://xiv.quest

    2 Million words X $0.04/Word =Roughly $80,000 Per Language with TransPerfect

For ten different official language translations with TransPerfect, it will come close to just under $1 million dollars.

If TransPerfect is this affordable, the multi-language support is very possible and the return on investment would almost be instant with paid subscriptions ($14.99) and buying the expansions ($39.99)

For one language in one month ($14.99+$39.99=$54.98 per subscriber),

    $80,000 / $54.98 = 1,456 Subscribers

FF14 would need 1,456 subscribers using that new language. Just the Spanish speaking fans here in this thread would pay this off instantly, let alone the other languages.

A very profitable endeavor for Square Enix to work with TransPerfect gaming…
