Why?
She is a very good singer, even if you aren't into Vtubers and such as I am not either but even I know of her and her music.
Smile had completely different problems than the singer or the voice.
She isn't some streamer who just sings for fun but really knows how to sing.

This thread here is honestly full of set-in-stone-opinions without much knowledge or even the attempt to attain it.
I mean, not being interested or not having knowledge is one thing and it's also fine to simply disagree with the choice but some comments here really just show pure spite and hate for basically nothing.

Objectively speaking, she is at the very most an 'okay' singer.
I understand however, that her condition limits what she could achieve in this field.

That had nothing to do with taste in music.
That's my point.

I know how much her fans get worked up if you criticize her. And I'm just the kind of person that just tends to say it out in the open if they don't like something that much. I know sometimes that can come off as rude or triggering, too, so I get why you reacted that way. No offense taken.

I had just seen a clip on YT where she was mentioning that she'd be at Fanfest 'in person' (which for her is 'via IPad' due to her medical issues). If she's got a whole panel, it's fairly safe to assume that there's a big reason for it, and 'is involved with the music of the next expansion' sounds like a big enough reason to me. Given her background in singing, her opera training etc, I wonder if it means that we're going to see a more Uematsu-esque main theme for the next expansion, rather than the SHB-onwards

Always funny watching how fast the 'I don't understand VTubers it doesn't make sense and/or it's cringe' people leap into action to mention that they don't understand VTubing, or think that it is cringe, or whatever, whenever a VTuber's name is mentioned, maybe the word is a sleeper agent activation phrase

Hey all, I wanted to ask a question.

I know Ironmouse has played ff14 on stream, and says they enjoy the game, but I cant help but wonder why they have given her a panel at fanfest? Shes not an ff streamer, she doesnt make ff content. It feels very... performative?

I may be incredibly wrong, and wondered other peoples opinions on it.

I just think that if you were gonna give a panel to anyone, theres a TON of ff14 dedicated creators that do wonderful things with their community.

I know shes going to preform a song and thats.. alright. But having Ironmouse on the dev lyric writing panel is gobsmaking to me. I wanted to hear the devs talk about writing the songs, not a content creator.

Unless shes got a new song in the new patch or expac this feels incredibly redundant and insulting.

I suppose I can use the time shes doing her panel to do the floor events but still...

Am I alone in this? this feels.. super weird.

we have the primals going to download and a vtuber in FFXIV panel
NGL it makes sense as Vtubers are kinda the closest thing to a endless that we have and that seems to be a future thing we will continue with.

Shes hardworking and will make good use of the opportunity.
At any rate i look forward to seeing what she brings. im biased though. i like the mouse ^^
