I did some initial test:
Test objects: L53 Watchwolves
Ifrit's Harpoon (151 dmg, 3.8 delay, 39.74DPS) vs Garuda's Beak (127 dmg, 3.1 delay, 40.97DPS)
[same gear set for both weapon]
Ifrit's Harpoon average dmg: (10 or so average)
True Thrust: 375.5
Leg Swipe: 282
Doom Spike: 859
Autoatt: 206
Garuda's Beak:
True Thrust: 363.8
Leg Swipe: 283
Doom Spike: 837.7
Autoatt: 165.75
This test is based on limited amount of samples. ~10 WS averages... but that's all I care actually.
Since, ws didn't go far off, I'll use which ever is shinnier and comfortable...
stat caps... these are too far from me. I don't wanna adjust my gears again...
So it sounds like Ifrit's Harpoon may excel slightly in damage, but Garuda's Beak gives +25 Acc., opening opportunities to slot ATK/STR/PIE in other slots to make up for it.I did some initial test:

Don't necessarily base your weapon/gear set based upon that post..
Deli said they did a minimal amount of testing, have no parse results to show from it and said he used the same gear set for both (the main thing was to try and see about stat caps and how DPS/base damage affect you, yet the best way to test this would be if Deli changed his setup depending on the weapon, e.g. Electrum Gorget +1 for Garudas, Explorer's Choker for Ifrits). Also mentioning that stat caps are too far from him.
So yeh... Read the full info on the thread to base your choices from that. Not Deli's post. XD
Wasn't quite basing it on his post. I know from my own experience that Garuda's Beak's WS damage seems to be on par or slightly better than Ifrit's Harpoon. Compared DPS and they seemed to be on par with one another, Garuda sometimes slightly ahead. I tested this on Princess. I didn't go far enough to make a solid conclusion, but I think DRG's are fine with either weapon.Don't necessarily base your weapon/gear set based upon that post..

/nod just use whatever you are comfortable.
I'll <3 garuda more cus the +ACC too. I really hate my ws missed... even though it open another feint combo, but I still don't like it.
btw... original data is here.
Is there a cap on this percentage where it is no longer effective for comparison? I've been trying to keep it around 8%, but for instance, Ifrit had an 86% deviation for my auto-attack lol.Seiken doesn't even count trials when he tests. We use a different method of data collection for MIN and MAX. Most other testers just find some arbitrary trial # and use the average. We only document the MIN and the MAX until:
(MAX - ((MAX+MIN)/2)) / ((MAX+MIN)/2) = 7.8% or greater
Because this gives the true average via calculation. The number of trials to achieve this true min/max depends on how high a damage you're dealing and luck. Could take 2 trials, could take 1000. The point is we're finding the true average instead of leaving it up to chance.
Your deviation is skewed when you incorporate skills like power surge/blood for blood etc. You can only use deviation if all other actions are controlled. Thats why its so hard to test stats on NM's since we all want to optimize and in order to test you have to pretty much not use any skills at all.

my most recent parser link, this includes a stat caps tab which calculates the deviation for you.
this shows the stat caps tab for crit only(this is why you see zeros on many of the skills, no crits landed) on Garuda
1. start parser
2. /echo stats:STR:255 (w/e your stat is that your going to modify can go here, its just informational)
2a. /echo statscrit:STR:255 (if you want to only look at the crits in the stats cap tab use "statscrit:")
