Side thing, Druid is the name used by the German translation of the game for the Conjurer Class

I also don't like how WHM went all in on the Light VFX in SHB. At least let us have a balance between the Lights and the Elemental attacks (IE one is the 'filler' and one is the 'burst' you set up for). Wasn't SHB's whole story that 'Light and Dark are both equally destructive, if you have too much of one and not enough of the other to counterbalance it'? Yet we're all in on Glare and Dia now

Healers feel like they've fallen behind the times, designed for a game that no longer exists. I believe SE can update Healer designs to better fit the modern raiding environment they're now creating, offering optimizations for players to master, while still remaining accessible to new players to the role, all while enhancing Job Identity of each Healer by creating a unique gameplay loop for each individual Job in the role. A 'Role Reborn', if you will. https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/504892 is my attempt to prove this belief is not only 'possible', but a very achievable goal for SE

I'd love a shapeshifting druid, I really wish we had that sort of thing in game. RPR 'shapeshifts' but only temporarily, you can't stay in that form and it's only in combat. Even though the notion is really neat.

Anyway - I may actually try healing if there was a sort of shapeshifting mechanic that actually kept you in that other form. Like druids in WoW!

Would that work both gameplay and lorewise? I don't know, and don't think so, but man do I want it.

For the love of gods, this game should be more alt-friendly. At least drop the story requirements if you've completed it on one character & share shop purchases with the entire account, bare minimum. Support alt friendliness: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/506856-Suggestion-FFXIV-Alt-Friendliness

Geomancer would probably be the closest. However not sure if they would go that route considering how much it would share with WHM and AST.

Yeah, considering the lore established that Astrolomancy is even a whole pillar of Geomancy, the only person who even knows how to do it is locked behind another job's questline, all the spells belong to a whole other class right now, the lore states that it's basically the combination of an existing class (CNJ) and an existing job (AST) right now, and most importantly it was established that no job stones for it exist at all, it would not really be feasible to introduce from a story perspective unless they had a wholly unrelated Geomancer appear out of the woodwork.

Gameplay-wise, I'm not sure how it would work since past Geomancers and even Phantom Geomancer cast spells depending on what type of terrain they're in/are standing on top of or the weather. Maybe it could do the summonable AoE thing that XI GEO had, but I'm not exactly sure how that all worked since I quit XI before that expansion and looking it up, it looks like it had a bunch of shared spells with BLM too.

Either way, unless they completely removed classes from the game in their entirety, as well as every spell WHM had before a certain point, I don't think we'll ever get a dedicated wind/earth/water job. Conjuror and the entire city built around it sit on the lore of being a wind/earth/water class and I don't see that ever changing.

I think your druid is kinda actively griefing the party if they don’t use healing spells when not shapeshifted.

SE made a mistake by making Geomancer a different Astrologian.

If you want to get really technical, that's what the lore for White Mage has always been in FF14, going all the way back to the War of the Magi (mentioned all the way back in ARR and fleshed out in HW). The Amdapori White Mages were just that--mages that abused the elements in a scramble for power to stop Mhach, justifying it to themselves as necessary until they were little better than the evil they were trying to stop. Gridanian White Mages are the exception, not the rule.
