    Nature magic healer

    those of us that enjoy druid type healers, i feel, got shafted...yes, CNJ STARTS as a very druid type healer. even with the story line, cleansing of corruption, soothing the elements. you THINK it will continue down this path, then at level 30...you get a white mage stone...a healer that is very "priest" not "druid" i cant be the only one that felt like it was tonal whiplash. i would like to ask for a HoT (Heal over time) style druid-esq healer, maybe a geomancer?

    Conjurer and White Mage would be that... But they've completely abandoned the roots of it and it's now just the Light elemental mage.

    They've drip-fed a lot of water back in as oGCDs, but very little wind (Aetherial Shift and maybe Assize) and zero earth from 72 and on. Both of the 2.0 healers have lost a lot of their thematic identity and are running together at this point, especially after SCH got their WHM cosplay version of Lemure Shroud.

    I don't know what either of these things are (priest and druid), but I can tell you that:

    White Mage actually GAINS a heal-over-time around that level and this transforms the job. It ceases to be a job where you cast cure spells to heal damage, and becomes a job where you can pre-emptively apply Heal-over-Times prior to pulling so that it does the healing for you, along with regen bubbles and other such things.

    The heal-over-times actually ruined the job for me. I like healing damage. It was a lot of fun until I got all those regens and then abilities ruined it even more.

    Cleansing corruption continues to exist with Esuna, but SE moves away from cleansing things after the low level dungeons, except in quite rare cases. I don't even remember routinely seeing cleansables in Extreme and Savage fights.

    I think the idea of Druid/Shaman healings came as early as Wanderer's Palace, but I'm surprised it was never explored as an actual job.

    Just start giving older classes their own job stones and start bringing them back into the game as alternative ways to play jobs. I'd like to get a reworked job or 2 every expansion instead of the fluff we get today.

    The job stone would increase their base stats to bring them more in line with the other jobs.

    Would love to see things like:
    Archer becoming it's own job without the need for any of the musical aspect. Start bringing in elemental arrows ect. Maybe bring it into a Ranger with pet style.
    Rogues could also be another job brought up as a Melee DPS that branches away from Ninjutsu. I liked the original idea with the Poisoned Venom Blades.
    Gladiator being a more agressive Physcial attacking Tank than the healing Paladin. Perhaps a dual Sword style gameplay. Maruader in a similar vein could be a Hammer user.
    Conjurer would be the Druid healer like we've lost. The Stone, Aero and Water spells returning as major aspects.

    I think if we got one or two of these reworks per expansion we could easily increase our Job pool with more ways to play and focusing on the original core of the job. Obviously they could never do them all at once, but even getting one per expansion would be very nice.

    Maybe I am to D&D-brained in that sense, but when i think "Druid" I never think "healer", nature magic sure, but rather than healing, the guy that can turn into a mammoth at will and crush an enemy with a charge, or is capable of causing giant earthquakes and tsunami to engulf entire armies.

    It would be about time that they seriously rework heal and don't simply split them in "Full heal" and "Shield" healer. There are lots of options to explore, nature healer is one of them.

    Also I really misses the time where astro had a bit of random with the cards, and where you had to deal with what you've picked. It was fun.

    But anyway, the biggest change they first should make is make healing needed again, so, remove a lot of mit and regen from every other jobs so that they can die if there is no heal. Like even a normal dungeon shouldn't be possible to clear without an healer.
