Apartments/Free Company rooms are finally included in the updates (keep it up)

Housing isn't super accessible to the entire playerbase due to scarcity; most however can get apartments/Free company estates.

Time and again I see house stuff but those ones not included. The biggest, glaring one was the interior select options...unless they've changed it since the last time I checked, that ONLY applied to houses.

Which, in my opinion, is super silly and unfair. I'm someone who is lucky enough to have a house, but I want my fellows happy as well - and it's fun to decorate apartments anyway!

So while it's just a smidgen of something this time, the item increase applying to them as well is appreciated, and I really, really hope when similar housing updates hit in the future, they also do stuff for apartments/free company rooms.

I'd still like to see a purchasable balcony upgrade for apartments that has a small gardening patch for growing plants.

I think we'll know their exact intentions for this game's housing simply if they allow the internal expansion of apartments or not, whenever that update drops.

If they're excluded we can say for certain housing is a sub trap.

Honestly I think the increase to FC rooms and Apartments is a bit lacking. Last increase kept them up to the old Small limits so the fact that we're only getting 150 slots instead of 200 like smalls currently have is a bit of a let down. Don't get me wrong, 50 slots helps but the fact that it didn't increase by as much as others is a little disappointing.

Man I agree with all of the above. It's so disheartening, and while I'm grateful for this tiny bit we're getting, yeah, we really should get more. But as someone who's in that sub trap...yep. Ugh. I'm out if 8.0 doesn't show promise, but the fact that I lose my house if I unsub is so nonsense with how apartments aren't nearly as enticing given, well, the obvious restrictions ><

Isn't the fundamental system still the same though? It's like saying my car is terrible until you put in the extra 600 horsepower. Then its not so bad.

But if you're quitting the game, then why care about the virtual house later on tho since you are never going to login again to visit it either, right? I mean, you can just pack up your house into retainers at any time or demo'd it if you're 100% sure you are quitting in 1 year. Also, if the $14 for the basic entry-sub is too much money, then I'd just not sub so I could put it towards like 1/4th of a switch game or lunch for today.

Typically, I always have a running sub since I like to play FFXIV even when we don't have any major patches and I visit my home often enough that it's fine for me.

Doubtful if they ever improve or add more rooms to apt or FC rooms like you can still grow flowers in pots for rooms atm too.

I mean, you can just pack up your house into retainers at any time or demo'd it if you're 100% sure you are quitting in 1 year. Because I'm not quitting the game yet. I genuinely want to see it improve, hence my comments on the forums every so often regarding things like alt friendliness and what I want to see improved/added. I'm not impressed with recent things, but one bad expansion isn't going to chase me away permanently.

However, if 8.0 really doesn't bring back that spark for me, then yes, I am definitely quitting for good.

At the moment, roleplay and stories are keeping me interested in at least my own creations with my friends, and I don't want to lose that. But if the game continues to go downhill...then yeah. I'm gone.

As for how apartments work, though, they really should do more, and I'm once more disappointed they do not.

That said - I'm glad they're doing what little they are doing, and want to see more of that in the future, so I do hope they keep it up and think even this little bit is a positive thing (should it be a trend that continues, because FC Rooms/Apartments deserve more love.)

I would love to be able to take breaks without losing all the hard work I put into my house, but that's not possible unfortunately, hence the frustration.. If only they were instanced.

I don't think apartments are ever going to1:1 plots. The demolition timer is really what keeps them that way.
