Infrequent windows for fish are good, Purse of Riches is too much

That's a good point, a massive block of feedback about ShB and EW in general was "This is all done way too quick", which we now see the opposite of in fishes such as this have egregious fishing window restrictions or how grindy the paste for the combat relics is, nevermind what fishers suffer through on the exoplanets.

Worth noting that Purse is a massive outlier when it comes to window frequency, and the other fish which have "egregious fishing window restrictions" are actually within the normal expectations we could have for fish for an expansion. Again, fish like Punuity Pain and Aeroplanos Datniodes have similar or much less average downtime between windows compared to Cinder Surprise or Bobgoblin Bass. Heirloom Goldgrouper is actually a little higher than Bob and Cinder, and would otherwise have been the stand out if not for purse. So there is not really multiple "fishes" with egregious fishing window restrictions - they're all within past precedence.

Something to consider when talking about window frequency is you need to look at a long stretch of time in order to really get an understanding for a fish. For purse - everyone is focusing on the 92 day vacation later this year. That's not what should be talked about in this context - the problem is the frequency of all the other windows.

Now this is actually a concern that I have as well, and Fish Eyes I think is a big key part of catch-up fish. Still, the average time it takes to catch all the fish (to date) hovers around a 3-4 months. It can take longer or shorter, but as more big fish are added, it's going to be a bigger and bigger thing to overcome. That said, Triple Triad, The Hunt (to a degree, sort of a weak example on my end) would also have similar issues.

Just wanted to reply to this (not related to fishing though so I'll keep it short hehe) I absolutely agree that the Hunt is going to be a bigger and bigger problem as time goes on. The tiger is not a problem since you can just run current expansion trains for the A ranks but the SHB and EW and in the future DT A ranks will become harder and harder to get 2000 kills off in a reasonable time without multiple daily hunt trains. I don't think S ranks will ever have the issue but the A ranks absolutely will

Not sure how someone is a leech or wants a carry when older A ranks will eventually be soloable and or doable with a small group of people on top of them having respawn times of up to 6-8 hours. I don't think it's an unplaced worry and I don't think brushing it off as people just being leeches or lazy is fair. You do realize even if you manage to solo them, needing 2000 is a LOT and once they're squishy enough it's only going to get more frustrating for newcomers to the game. Achievements like this simply need future proofing.

Regardless, this topic is about purse of riches, I'll not derail any further.

You can go to just about any Big Fish window, and this will be the result. Just because players aren't coming out of every fish windows going "man that's fun" means that it's negative, or at least something 'bad.' It just means that they're not saying certain things because why would they? It's a simple fish.

I, personally, think Purse of Riches is neat and as I said in the original post -- I'm glad it exists. But I wouldn't call it fun because it's just a straight catch slap n' chum fish. A fish like Punuity Pain or Ttokatoa is a far more engaging fish that I find far more fun. Other fish like Stethacanthus, Listracanthus, Tebquyiq Smelt, Snowy Paraxus, are all fun fish to me! But I'm not going to always go to a window and come out of it saying "Golly gee that was fun" -- nah, I'll keep it to myself because that's all that's needed.

Some people like fish, some people don't. The lack of, or abundance of, either opinion doesn't fully dictate what fish is fun, good, or otherwise well designed.
