Will classes still exist in 2.0?

That is true, so far, unfortunately. Maybe they'll realize, hopefully sooner than later, that it's not the best idea.
That said, there is half a year left to grow the balls. you never know!

SE will keep classes around because in XI there were jobs that were good at soloing and some that weren't, there were jobs thats sucked in parties and others that shinded in the lime light. You guys know which ones im talking about! many jobs were excluded from the games content, some jobs more then others but the main thing is they were frowned upon becasue they could only work in parties or solo or whatever,etc. this time around in XIV SE wants to avoid that problem by having classes that a more flexible and are capable of doing more roles, typically low man/soloing and jobs being the "specific man" for the job aimed for more endgame/full parties.
