Trying to find a specific quote from Aymeric

There's a quote from him at some point where he says, "The day-to-day duties are not so demanding. The social obligations, on the other hand...", but I'm not sure where he says it. I can't find it in when I search through websites that have the dialogue. Anyone know where it is?

It sounds like something he would say in a Patch 2.5 cutscene - when the Alliance is together after the Steps of Faith; maybe The Parting Glass itself.

But you're right - I can't find it in the expected online transcript archives.

My thought was actually to check the post-Heavensward stuff, specifically shooting for his dinner with the WoL, but no luck there. I also checked the two short stories I knew he was in on the Lodestone, no luck with even a remotely similar comment on either.

I'm pretty sure he said it because there were older forum posts that mention this quote (though they didn't say from where unfortunately) and there was some older art that used that quote as a caption. That said, I did try watching a video of the Parting Glass from 2015 to see if it was where Anonymoose suggested, but unfortunately, it wasn't there either. I suspect it was cut at this point.

This I would doubt, They've rarely-to-never done this, and if they did, a place like Gamer Escape would've found it.

Three of them are a quote on the same piece by the same artist, cross-posted across Instagram, Pinterest and Bluesky about two years ago... and one on these forums, from a pile of largely disparate quotes by Americ, posted in 2017 by Anonymoose!

A block of quotes like that I wouldn't have manually typed or had on hand, I'd have just searched "AYMERIC" on one of the database websites with a search function and curated the fun ones via copy-paste from there. (I'm sure that's what "flipping through tome" meant at the time, lol.)

I was going to try to recreate the process but it doesn't appear any the ones I remember are still active / functional.

Apparently, no wiki has included this quote from Aymeric. But he did indeed say it. I believe it's not in a quest, but rather in an optional dialogue during the Heavensward events (3.1 or 3.2).

Someone would have to play New Game+ to retrieve it.

After doing some more research, I'm not so sure anymore. I also couldn't attribute a similar phrase to Gaius van Baelsar. In fact, to any character. Strange... Maybe our memory is playing tricks on us, or it's a mandala effect. Only NG+ will confirm that. lol Maybe in the Eorzea Encyclopedias? I don't know...

My feeling, this is the result of one of three things.

1. This line is in the game, but isn't straight 'text box dialog', and so wouldn't be in most of the databases that log all of that.
2. There's misinformation about it, deliberately or not, and the line literally does not exist. Or at least, not meaningfully close to the form we're looking for.
3. This isn't even a quote from FFXIV, and got misattributed to Aymeric at some point. Possibly, originally from something that's not as well-documented, and/or was itself misunderstood. Like, if this was from some K-drama with a character similar enough to Aymeric to get associated with him in casual conversation, would we be able to even find proof of that?

My gut feel is that it's number one. This might be because Anonymoose is the oldest source I can find, and he tends to do his homework on these sorts of things; I don't expect you to remember your thought process on a random post from nine years ago, but you've always been more likely to be the type to document something niche than you are to go 'that sounds legit' and not fact-check. I think it is in the game somewhere, but someone's gonna have to do some SERIOUS legwork to find.
