Patch 8.0 - How long is too long to wait?

Yeah we haven’t gotten so much as a tease of what the job will look like, how it will play, what the job icon will be or even any artwork!

But one of the things that really bugs me is that I’ve been capped on Poetics all expansion. I could have been using those, over the patches, getting tome gear sets for every 10 levels of BST. But we don’t even know what gear category it’s going to fall into.

Yeah, given how long it’s been since it was announced it’s honestly kinda crazy that we’ve had literally nothing about it. As you say we don’t even know what kind of gear category it’ll fall under. Even if we took the ‘most likely option’ with it as some kind of melee dps, is it striking/maiming? Or maybe it’ll end up being a phys ranged. We have absolutely no idea because they’d told us nothing lol.

I think it’s worth mentioning as well that things like that can actually ‘incentivise’ the wait. Like if we knew more about Beastmaster we could start working towards like getting gear for it whatever like you say. And thus someone who might have felt they had nothing much to do could’ve at least engaged themselves with ‘preparing as fully as possible’ for when it does arrive. I mean, not to say that suddenly the game would be full of content if they instantly gave us all the info, but like it’s much harder to justify sticking around when you either have no idea of what’s coming (BST) or what’s coming is so predictable you know exactly what it’ll be ahead of time and there’s mostly no prep required (I.E dungeons)

I think with the overwhelming negative feedback from dawntrail, the dev team trying to be careful and take their time with 8.0. I'll accept a delayed release if we get exploratory content on release or something similar. I think future expansions will benefit from less drip feed to appease those impatient as op

Can't wait to hear more about those sweet words that nobody falls for anymore. We still don't have housing updates, we still don't have criterion, we still don't have a beastmaster job that was talked so much about it.

The housing updates, namely the interior upgrade and limits increases are slated for Patch 7.5.

Isnt there a new slop they released on steam lately? SE has such a great IP and they continue releasing games that fail miserably. Subs financing failing products, sigh.

I have a feeling they'll release 8.0 December 2026 but like the raid series, will launch sometime mid/late January 2027, like they've done with 6.4


It'll be interesting to see what they'll do 7.55 to 8.0 - could they announce a mini patch of 7.6 or something to maintain momentum?

Amount of people complaining in this thread about lack of content, who don't even interact with some of the main content of the game. No wonder SE doesn't listen when there is all these "no content" moaners, who don't even play the main content of the game.

And that main content is... what exactly? Because for me there really is nothing left to do, even the MSQ fell off hard during Shadowbringers and everyone is always telling me Endwalker and Dawntrail suck anyway, so why even bother with the story anymore?
