PTT for m11s is a scam

Went into a merc party looking to pay people gil for a clear. Oh he got the clear, but i was so mad that i left the group early before i remembered that i needed to stay for the gil. Should have stayed in bed. Had to make myself get out of bed to check for merc parties since i need gil, since i spent so much on potions progging the tier the first two weeks.

I join PTT. I think to myself "hmm, how to make this easy. Maybe ill tell the OT ill take the last tower, and once he sees my holm fall off, walk in." We get in and PLD says "Hey WAR, ill take last tower. Lets share the first three hits first though." I said "ok. Sounds good," because i can literally adapt to anything/super comfy on the fight.

Bro, after the fight was over, i see why the OT wanted it done the way it was done. I was scammed. I was told healers like ptt because they can burst. Idk about that, but im never joining a ptt again. Just like this streamer im watching right now on twitch said, he agreed and said he always says ttp or goodbye. Thats my attitude from now on. Ptt is basically "hahaha if someone dies, its gonna be you!"

Mch kills me on 2 way fireball from being in NW corner for some reason and not there to help absorb the blow for us (the group on east side) (SCH behind me.) I rez and go into second heartbreak, soak a hit, invuln. Time for third heartbreak. All i have left is rampart and bloodwhetting. I took one hit. Got essentially 0 significant heals, and died on the second blow. As this streamer explained, "people think tanks have everything back up for the third heartbreak, but thats not true. We just used some for the towers right before." And thats very true. Ive got 320k hp and 786 ilvl, and with rampart, thrill, and bloodwhetting (and its four second buffs active), i survive the tower with 10% hp, so i switched up and use 40% on tower plus thrill and bloodwhetting and survive a lot better, because im not sure if i trust everything going on in pf every time. With rampart and bloodwhetting left on the final heartbreak, one tick took me to 40% hp with me already having weakness from the mch killing me, and i just died. Felt totally scammed and neglected as collateral damage for the kill. Never doing it again. This was very close to server reset time, so i got out of bed and got scammed and not enough time left for a redemption clear before weekly reset. Never doing it again.

I never remotely have any issue on ttp. Ptt is asking for someone to die. Ttt? Think someones gonna assist in healing when the boss is sub 2% hp and they need that healing dps parse? Hahahahah no. Never again. I almost didnt even get topped off before i toook the first hit of the third heartbreak after going in with the holmgang for the second heartbreak. Like dude... either way, youre going to have to heal (and maybe not so much if another player doesnt kill your tank and have them have weakness) so ptt is just thrown out there to maximize the likelihood that a healer can probably parse harder if they think they can sac a tank at the right time and have the other hopefully only take one or two blows max and not die right before kill/ timing the sac right.

Joining the obstinate ttp crowd. I can fight back, too

You're not allowed to sell them.

You are allowed to pay for them. What that means is, you setup a PF and offer to give everyone gil if they help you clear. That's completely fine. I know someone that did this and paid A LOT to get through to M12S because they don't want to deal with PF nonsense.

Despite that, they have had to deal with PF to an extent, because sometimes the mercs still aren't good enough.

Most likely the stack towers. Obviously a common strat in High-End content is to get tanks to burn an invuln so the party doesn't have to do things, like stacking. Thus, P would mean party and T would mean tank.

Yes. tl;dr I believe OP is warning us tanks to only join parties where the party will soak last tower together, because if tanks do it nobody wants to heal them before or after the invuln.

Youre not allowed to use irl money for in game transactions, including clears. Gil is fine. People do it all of the time. I cleared the tier early and decided monday night would be a good night to find someone wanting to pay for help clearing. It is always listed in party finder for whoever wants to join. Also lootmasters pay a lot for the right to dictate who gets loot


And yea, ptt was soul crushing. Never again. Call it an overreaction, but it really killed me last night. I woke up with such a blank empty everything this morning, people around me have taken notice. Im just simply not here emotionally or mentally today. If i get a redemption clear on reclear tonight, maybe that will perk me up, but i just feel violated and discarded. Crestfallen. Idk why but it felt so dang bad. Lol smh :/
