Please add various body shapes and skin options in character creation

They can add new features just fine, especially easy stuff like this. What did we lose in exchange for second dye slots, facewear or the strategy board for a few examples.

It's hard to say what we have missed because the expac is not over, but so far we have missed: 1 (potentially 2) variant dungeons, a housing ward, lifestyle content like Island Sanctuary, Ocean Fishing update.
There might be more stuff, this was just off the top of my head.
The point is, you can't just keep increasing the content pipeline year after year if there is no budget increase, and I'm not sure why I even have to argue this

One thing to note is it has been stated that the initial limitations in the creator is a thing of the past and more things can be added now. It was one thing fixed with Dawntrail and is the same server tech that's being modified for the housing interior upgrades coming in 7.5. it has way more juice to load in more complex characters with more layering options.

That's why Yoshi-P keeps mentioning the character creator in recent interviews. It's absolutely getting an expansion in 8.0 but we won't know until April at the earliest on the details.

That doesn't come from anything to do with body scaling, it's their custom faces. The developers give them their own unique head model but because they're supposed to only wear this specific outfit (which conveniently covers the neck) they never bother to fix the texture seam.
Or their head wasn't made to fit on the normal player body in the first place, so the two meshes never connect properly.

Oh that makes a lot of sense, especially now that I actually recall their neck width and head shapes, lol. Thank you for the correction.

Not just a lack of budget, but more importantly a lack of manpower. You can throw all the money in the world at the game, if there is no increase in developers to make things then it's not getting any faster.

No thanks, i don't want FFXIV being even more westernized with this ideology pushing stuff that already have detroyed entire western AAA gaming industry and Japanese AAA gaming industry is currently dying really fast.

So i rather want FFXIV being more made for Japanese market in mind without being westernized and without ideology pushing stuff.

I don't have your body type but I also thought equating things like hips and thigh size with age was an eye-rolling comment, but I won't say anything more on that. Still, I am sorry by how frequently you likely have to read claims like that, considering they've gotten increasingly more common on the internet in recent years.

That being said, I'm also for more options in general (though I admit I prefer the game's aesthetic and clan distinctions keeping some consistency). With how gear is fitted in this game, I do worry about the possibility though. Mostly because when it comes to adjusting bodies for special NPCs like Hien or Sphene, there tends to be issues with neck seams outside of their customized gear...

Yeah, realistically I don't they can adjust body shapes, at least that simply, because it more or less would be equivalent to adding a new race with how gear works or at least take a lot of work. I think it's fine prefering in the game's aesthetic, I like it, too or I wouldn't play. I just make the mistake of comparing myself to the characters and need to quit that and then comparing myself to the people who make the comments (and I need to quit that!), which to clarify I think it's okay they make, it's just a salt in a wound type of thing, I shouldn't have replied or at least probably should've wrote it better.

Sorry for making harsh reply to this thread about someone asking for having things like ability to make plus sized character when i'm just so tired of entire western AAA gaming industry that have being nothing more then pushing ideology for few years now which is main reason why i just don't want having things like ability to make plus size characters in FFXIV.

So i deleted my reply and i will never post in this thread anymore when all i do is make everyone angry at me for saying things i don't want see in FFXIV.

Also, I had no idea that the western game and Asian games industry died over the last few days, since that's a shame since it's one of my fav hobbies. I guess this is the afterlife now, and we'll all waiting for better CC options in ffxiv forever.

For real. Additional preset body shapes to choose from would be fine but I hope they never add body sliders. PSO2 and FFXIV modbeasts have shown us the horrors that would unleash.

Sincerely disagree here. Most players use maxed out or larger busts on their female characters and because the devs made the bodies with pretty average human proportions, they never look odd or bad at 0 or 100 on the slider. I make the request for buttocks, waist, and thigh sliders under the pretense it will be exactly the same type of reeled in, realistic proportions.

I think the extremophiles seen in modding circles becoming standard due to the few designers behind the mod skeletons have poisoned the well when like, giving us to option to add (or even remove) a few inches of our WoL's butt wouldn't break immersion but would still be a big upgrade to give us more personalized characters.
