I dont get you guys. You think all these "problems make the game fail" all I see is road blocks. Mentality is what makes the difference between leaders and followers. If you see a problem you ask yourself can this be avoided? Fixed? How can we approach this to make it work? I dont see anyone of you thinking like that. All I see is well blah blah so it cant possibly work. That is BS in the highest degree.
What about nerd rage dont you understand. If the goal is to service the FF fans, the last thing you want to do is fuck with the original storylines, characters, and art styles. That would just piss them off, and completely alienate the audience you are trying to sell the game to. This thread should be proof enough that *fans* care about certain things, otherwise they wont bother paying for what you give them. Your problem is that you *think* what the fans think is irrelevant. Have fun trying to sell a game like you're proposing to ppl who think its a bad idea. Its a bad idea precisely because fans don't like the idea, which makes this hypothetical game you are proposing a hypothetical *failure*. Not all ideas are good ideas, not all ideas are liked, not all ideas are successful. It should be clear to you that ppl just don't like it. Does it matter why they don't like it? No. At the end of the day when you are talking about an mmorpg, the only thing that matters is whether they like it or not. If they dont like it, they aint buying it..and sure as hell aint gonna subscribe to it.

Just move on to the next idea, christ. If we use this thread alone, so far your game is selling maybe 3 copies. And you want a company to throw a bunch of money at a fail project like that? When you garner a lot of positive community feedback, then we can talk about "what could have been". As this idea is not working, i suggest you work at a new one. So far, your game is a giant failure, and there's no way in hell SE would even *think* about it at this rate. Who the hell cares why ppl dont like it? You think SE runs around telling us to stfu, that we have no taste, or demand good reasons why we don't like something? No. We don't like it, we don't buy it, SE isn't stupid. They just say "okay" and give us what we want. Thats how the game world works. Reasons won't make your idea any more valid. If ppl dont like it its not valid. Period. Obviously the thread speaks for itself, so that is that. You are wasting mental energy over a failure of an idea (as the community sees it). No community, no game...obviously it didn't work out.

Since when has square given us what we want? Also I am a fan, I know a bunch of fans of the game that like the idea which is what spawned this post to begin with. There are a total of 10 people posting in this forum with opinions. Some agreed some disagreed. Some people dont even know what they want, and others wouldnt know a good idea if it hit them in the ars.

I get that not everyone is gunna like the idea. I have actually heard some decent reasons. Hell I know I wouldnt be 100% sure I would want a FFVII remake (one of my favorite games of all time) Because there are certain nuances that cant be portrayed the way they were supposed to in the original. Yet there comes a time when you take the bad with the good and if the good outweighs the bad then it may be worth considering.

This is a pretty good example...the game we're playing now. SE does a pretty good job at trying to deliver to its fanbase. I think they deserve more credit than they are given. In any case, my point is that this thread makes it pretty clear the majority is just not on your side of the fence. It would be wiser to just scrap the idea, or modify the idea, or approach a similar idea from a different angle, rather than force ppl to give you valid reasons why they dont like it. The only thing that matters is that they don't. Valid reasons are irrelevant, all valid reasons do is salvage the pride of the person that came up with the idea. I'm telling you to drop the pride and move on to a different idea. You seem to be creative enough, and adventurous enough, there's no need to get too attached to one proposition. You've tested the waters, the reception isn't exactly positive, so try something else. Put on your thinking cap and go at it again. There's more than one way to skin a cat after all, and maybe aspects of your idea could work in a different form? Just drop it as it is now and come back with a vengeance.
