Please add various body shapes and skin options in character creation

We know it's possible to adjust the body shape and size using the same base body because it's done between races to create different looks for them. Please use that same feature to allow us to adjust the size of our characters to something other than (for most races) stick thin.

I don't expect full plus size or fat rolls or comical level curves. I don't expect a full other model to be created. I just want my character to look closer the age and size I imagine her, but allowing her to have a bit more hip, and wider waist/thighs. But my character (a female midlander) has thighs that in some outfits are small enough they appear to be smaller than Alisaie's who is sixteen and not much taller than her. For Miqo'te and Au'ra it is about the same also.

I do feel there should obviously either be presets or limitations to sizes of certain features (to avoid the huge boobs and butt only thing) but I am simply tired of her looking so tiny just because of the race I picked and prefer for her.

As far as skin goes, yes there was some improvement to darker skin tones with DT, but the more middle tone skins still look very ashy and dull, as it's not dark enough for the skin sheen to contrast against but not light enough for the less sheen to look normal.

I also feel it's wouldn't be a huge ask to have a few more texture options for the body itself, such as freckles, maybe some discoloration or flush, etc.

It honestly looks like the face textures got upgraded in DT but the body is still so flat looking, when it could easily have a bit more detail to it. Lines for the elbow creases, some detail on the knees, stuff like that.

Don't get me started on how being allowed more than one makeup type (aka instead of just a single face paint) could allow for a lot more customization. Most of the makeup in game looks less like makeup and more like just things that I feel bring realism to my character. I don't need/want full on glam but being able to have both freckles and eyeshadow or blush at the same time would be nice. If people can have their character running around with half their face painted neon blue, I don't think both blush and eyeshadow on a character is going to break the immersion.

These are all things I feel wouldn't heavily impact people's ability to run the game but would vastly improve the character creation. It would also allow far more diversity in characters.

I am confused about the skin part, it's true it is dependent on the race, but you can be red or green, along with probably every shade someone in real life could possibly have, skin color range is one of the things that I never found XIV in any way lacking.

No thanks, not until they actually start putting effort into fitting clothes for non-slender/lala races
So much gear looks absolutely awful on roe/hroth and you're only asking to make this worse

I both support and am scared of changing body types. People will absolutely make meme aberrations that are disgusting to look at if allowed. Within reason? sure...

I would find it superior if we had a color wheel to choose skin tone than the grid pattern we have. I do find it lacking.

Even with hair, sometimes it is so hard to find that exact shade you are looking for.

I would rather they get clothes designed around the currently existing bodies before they start adding new ones... The team behind designing gear don't seem to know that some races have tails.

It's not as obviously bad on Highlanders, but there are some shirts I just can't wear because the collars and shoulder decorations on them look ridiculously oversized on my WoL while they look just fine on smaller bodied characters. And...well, Thighlander thighs are too mighty for a number of boots, too. (I don't complain too much though because there's also some things that absolutely kick ass on my WoL that look silly on miqos.)

I don't think whatever method they use to fit armor to the various sized races would work very well if they also had to fit them to different body shapes.

I am not talking about the color choices, I'm talking about the way the current shades have their sheen and the actual texture itself which is shared across ALL shades.

I think y'all are misunderstanding. I'm talking about the midlander base body, which most races uses, being scaled to different shapes and sizes using the same method as they already do it for the different races. There is no taking away from what we already have, there is no remaking stuff. For females, I'm pretty sure only Lala have a different body model and for guys it's Highlanders, Roe and Hroth that have a different body models. The rest all share the same exact one and it's just scaled up or down. So why can we not have different shapes WITHIN the races themselves as well. They already do it.

Where did I say that I wanted to take away from current content we get? I agree that those races need more effort put into their clothes! Y'all deserve better, no argument there.

But I need everyone to understand no extra models would need to be made from what they already make to implement this.

I know this, because people who use 3rd party plugins have been doing that for a while now. They have an entire thing with scaling bones to get differing body shapes without changing the models themselves. The team says they look at what 3rd party plugins do to get a read on what is wanted in the game, so I'm saying "hey this one that we all know exists? It is, in fact, wanted also by people who are keeping to TOS."

Me putting the "with either presets or limits" was basically me thinking exactly of that and being like STOP MONKEYS PAW STOP LOLOL

Some races already allow similar changes to this like the muscle slider (which I love). Each race could get its own unique slider, I'd be in support of that.
