Just now my team and I got kicked out of a leveling duty literally at the last possible second, the final boss of the dungeon was dead, the loot rolls were up and then ....

That's mine for now ... though somehow I feel like I'll be able to beat that in the next days... I'm not even risking trying to do deep dungeons right now for this reason XD

They aren't actual server crashes. It's just an attack on the wires on the way to the server, disconnecting the majority of players. But yes, I've had a failed Pilgrim's run due to it and a near-failure that someone anticipated and saved. Everyone was kicked when I entered Unreal this week. I've had a few hunt trains ruined by the DDoS, and others delayed by 20 minutes where we all waited for eachother to reconnect before killing the rest of the hunts.

I hit lvl 60 on black mage and do the quest to get Fire IV. I make it back Ul'dah and talk to the NPC for the final handin. The cutscene starts... Instant DC.

We had a group in Forked Tower wipe to Lockwards....

For those unaware of what Lockwards is, it's 4+ waves of 3 "Lockward" enemies. These enemies are frankly not really a threat in any normal circumstance as the only thing they have is a kinda strong auto attack and nothing else. The problem is when you DC mid combat you come back dead so the DDoS resulted in one of the only wipes to have ever happened at that specific spot of Forked Tower.

One time in m4s I ran out of electric and the power went out mid pull so I had to put the emergency credit on the meter as I didn’t have time to run to the co-op to top up my leccy key x

I rememebr once I was doing the Vanu beasttribe quests in The Sea of Clouds during HW's time, and I was flying along midway through the objective of a particular tribal quest when all of a sudden the sceen went black with a error 90000 window. Then the game crashed back to the desktop. Upon logging back into the game, I was suddenly on the other side of the map (back at Camp Cloudtop) - presumedly when the server crashed it couldn't restore my character's last known location so defaulted to sending me to the nearest aetheryte camp as a failsafe (it had also reset my current status in the tribal quest to all objectives incomplete). Annoying, but could have been so much worse.

I think nothing tops 1.0 though for instability and errors, with the standout for me was when on the day of the Calamity (the last day of 1.0's original operation), I was hit with a server calamity in a different way, half an hour before the end, I was suddenly booted back to the title screen with a weird 'time out' error, and I couldn't log back in, the servers were just that congested, as shown on this picture (this was kind of replicated in the launch days of ARR, SB and EW where massive cues and server lockouts were the norm):



And in an touch of irony, it's now a little over 13 years since that day..

Par for the course during 1.0 of course, but was still annoying that Enki disappeared from Eorzea half an hour ahead of schedule.
