they should add a new base set that you can either earn by lots of grind or for trading in your +2 pieces from blood tower. That way people dont have to do Tower of Blood and the ones that did havent "wasted" all the effortsIt will be interesting to see what their plans are for North Horn gear. Will in be based on South Horn, or entirely new set. If they're going to keep the old armor and upgrade it to +3, I really think they need an alternative way to get the X-Fixative. If it remains locked behind FT Blood, it's gonna piss off a lot of users. On the other hand, even one full set of +1 armor is a big time investment, so that being replaced in North Horn would also be annoying.
Personally I would like to see them add OC specific materia for the armors, active only in OC. Could be used for damage taken, damage dealt, healing received, healing done. Would give players some options and customization on gear build. Or it could be an enchantment for the gear, specific for each type (slot and role).
But the biggest issue with gear, is that you need a PJ with some form of damage ability to really get a real use out of the gear. Sure, the main attribute is nice, but the real value is in the special attribute, and at the moment the following PJs gets nothing from that stat (Knight, Thief, Ranger, Chemist, Geomancer, Bard), or around half of the initial PJs.

I think it would be better to do the Bozja approach
North horn gets a new set of gear that’s proverbially the strength of a theoretical +3 and you can upgrade that to +5 (which would be 6 special attribute and 240 main stat)
Then when you have north horn +2 and south horn +2 you can trade them for one final set of gear that gives haste (so occult master set 6 special attribute 240 main stat and 3 haste) or something like that
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
Youre asking the wrong team about creativity.. they gave up a long time agoAfter looking at the stat bonuses for the new accessories in OC my question is why is it so freaking BORING? If I'm getting this right an entire fully upgraded left side amounts to a ~12% damage increase and the entire right side amounts to ~5%. Who would even bother grinding so much for such a measly one-role bonus outside of people participating in SUPPOSEDLY illicit parsing activities!?!?
It doesn't need to be anything insane but come the freak on at least make it do SOMETHING different so it feels worthwhile. This is silly one-off side content it doesn't need to be as balanced as the rest of the game.
Why can't the Time Mage gear give a bunch of swiftcast charges? Or drastically increase the length of DoTs and HoTs? Or give a passive cooldown reduction?
Why can't the Berserker gear give you a big fat boost to your health pool and some lifesteal? Or a damage boost when it gets low? Or make you immune to knockbacks and certain status effects in CEs?
Hell why can't I take my weapon from the new extreme and have a haste/movement speed boost that ramps the longer a fight goes on? Or the weapon from the one before that give a small chance to doom trash mobs?
Where is the CREATIVITY? Where is the PASSION? WHERE ARE THE RPG ELEMENTS!?!?
