I don't like FF14, this is why I play it.

First off, I'm aware you don't care, and that Square-Enix doesn't read the forums.

I still would like to at least pretend I'm letting Square-Enix know that gamers exist.

I personally have 100-200$ a month for my gaming budget.

I have 40-60 hours a week to game, despite working a full time job, because I live a clean simple life.

It just means I'm a gamer. I don't do drugs or go party, so all my free time is just gaming.

(I'm saying this because Naoki Yoshida, and Square-Enix seems to think gamers either don't exist or don't have time and money.)


The reason I don't like FF14 is because its just ungodly simple, easy, and bland.

(I curb this by manually tri-boxing the game. I currently don't even use macros, and will try to avoid using them for combat.)

I'm playing it because, well I have 40-60 hours a week to game, and I'm currently doing a Rune Level 1 playthrough on Elden Ring, and I'm almost done with it.

(FF14 is less stressful than Elden Ring and FFXI.)

I did basically everything I want to do in every game I have played and want to play, except FFXI, and FF14.

In FFXI I have to make at least 2-3 more Mythic weapons for my "static," and need at least 6-8 more Malignance armor pieces to keep progressing Odyssey.

I just absolutely hate Nyzul.

So I decided instead of 6 boxing FFXI where I have another 950 hours of Nyzul and paying 88$ a month on that game, I can 3-box FF14, and manually play this on my 3 desktops and have a more relaxing time here. Plus its cheaper, only 38$ a month.

What I do in FF14:
-Treasure maps (Dragonskin/Gazelleskin)
-Levequests
-Eureka

I haven't, and have no plans to buy any expansion after Shadowbringers. Shadowbringers was genuinely terrible in my opinion, so all my accounts will stay at Stormblood content until they make a better expansion with more content than Stormblood.

(I don't play for "story" the last story I did with my "main" was the last 5.3 "MSQ" "Reflections in Crystal" it was such a bad storyline that I quit right then and there, and have not done another quest since.)

I most likely will quit or return to FFXI before they release new content in FF14. Naoki Yoshida seems to want to turn this game from a Visual Novel (it stopped being a RPG once 2.0 released) into a Gacha game. (8.0 sounds like its being "reborn" into a full blown gacha MMO.)


TLDR:

I dislike Nyzul in FFXI more than I dislike FF14 so I chose to play FF14 because its less stressful and cheaper.

making me play errand boy for 50 quests, to get 3 three quests where they fake kill a character in the story is bad story writing in my opinion.

You're correct! Its both!

You see, Square-Enix is a gaming company, they own a franchise called "Final Fantasy" within that company and franchise they have two MMO games, (they have a 3rd even, but its a different franchise).

One is called "Final Fantasy XI" it is a MMORPG.
The other is called "Final Fantasy XIV" or "Final Fantasy XlV" because they wanted to make the roman numeral different for some reason, but then they changed it back for no reason. (Naoki Yoshida doesn't like the numbers in the franchise is the real reason.)

FFXIV is a MMO Visual Novel, on course (according to the producer) to be reborn into a MMO Gacha.

Since I regularly hop between the two, I have to explain, so including FFXI in the reason why I left XI to play 14 is perfectly logical and reasonable.

I left feedback on those forums too.

(Again, if you're not aware, Square-Enix doesn't even read the English forums. So don't worry they likely won't see this feedback. The only thing they do here is occasionally moderate to ban veterans who leave feedback that isn't super friendly and wholesome because it is run by the California department that can't handle criticism, even if its 100% logical, sound, and reasonable. So most likely this post will be deleted, ignored or cause me to get banned. So don't stress your heart one bit if you don't like what I said or did, because in the grand scheme of things it is irrelevant.)

Why post then? Cause its better to just say it, than to be silent.

Who knows, maybe for one split second things will make sense, Square-Enix will care, will read the feedback, might reconsider making it a RPG, and the game will be fun again.

But considering its been 12 years and the game is now in my opinion worse than version 1.23b (if you're playing Dawntrail content, with all these constant D/C's that is) I doubt it will happen.

I mean the game runs smoother than in 1.23b, but with the constant D/C's I am weary to even do any treasure maps. For now i'm just progressing my 24 characters instead. I might just do levequets, who knows. But yeah, I did post about what content I like in FFXIV and why I chose to play it instead of FFXI , so it is indeed still XIV feedback.

Again, do not worry your heart, it won't affect anything. The game will stay a visual novel but more on the gacha side according to Yoshida anyway.

Exactly. Take up cycling, OP. It'll improve your life more than playing a game you seem to actively have disdain for. I'd never waste my gaming time on a game I, quote, do not like. What loser behavior tbh.
