    I don't have high regard for either of them one way or the other. There's nothing impressive about one MMO doing more outfits because they have more workers, that's just common sense. If you want to talk about how they managed to piece together neighborhoods plus scalable housing for everyone, now that I think is impressive.

    I'm not defending SE. I actually criticize the game HEAVILY these days because Dawntrail is so awful. However I played WoW for a damn decade and left for a reason, I don't want this game to take anymore hints from that garbage game than it already has.

    Like Transmog. With the update with transmog its amazing. We need that in ff14

    They already have unique armor designs for each role. They also have unique armor designs for each class (artifact gear, which was already pointed out to you). This isn't a case where WoW has an idea that FFXIV doesn't implement. They've done it for years, they just don't do it as often.

    Those all look the same, just recolors and maybe slap a different set of shoulder pads on. XIV may do things by role but they at least have actual variety between the roles.

    You can also only be one job in WoW. In XIV you can be all. So role-based gear helps with gearing up alt classes.

    I think I prefer the Dungeon/Tome/Crafted/Raid setup they have going on now over that.

    I would like to see them expand on the artefact gear to be honest... Make it into proper relic armor... Even if it would just be going from... Undyed -> Dyed > Undyeable Glow > Dyeable Glow, even if the glow is something akin to the i90 crafted gear (and of course appropriate item level).

    Would have been nice if the Eureka system followed this in addition to (or in replacement of) the Elemental gear from Pyros and Hydatos.

    If they can add unique designs and such (in addition to the above), then I think it would be great.. But I think this would be a nice middle-ground

    I don't think OP is asking for unique armor for every single job. We have the following

    Fending
    Maiming
    Striking
    Scouting
    Healer
    Caster

    But we only have 3 unique armor sets, Fending/maiming, striking/scouting, healer/caster. And even with this, often, though not always, the striking/scouting gear is just the fending/maiming gear with a few bits and bobs removed.

    As glamour restrictions are lifted I'd be in favour in more sets now that any job can wear anything.

    Though I don't really expect them to, frankly I would rather them focus on a lot of the other customization options then worrying about gearsets being all different.

    Also I forget to add but as Melee takes up 3 slots in different gearing they usually get a disproportionate amount of attention I much rather something like different healer/caster gears then all the melees having different gear sets as the melees having different gear in the first place is kind of a poor design choice imo as it limits what jobs you can gear if your a melee player.
