    Pretty sure those scenarios are planned anyway. They're not in yet because of current client limitations, server infrastructure, yada yada.

    I would love to see some outside instanced stuff but at the same time I don't. This is based on previous experience with FFXI and voidwatch, when you popped a nm you would go to an instanced area in the world and fight the NM. However you would get terrible lag from all the other mobs in the area.

    well i think instances have nothing to do with limitations.. im not talking about openworld zergs.

    Indeed. The OP seems to want something like Utgarde Keep or Zul'Farrak, which is perfectly reasonable. I'd like to see a 16-man raid that starts outside and then goes inside, too.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

    Well yeah, they don't.

    The dungeons we have now are so limited because of mix of lack of resources, poor game client/infrastructure, and because they were introductory.

    I'm positive that as time goes on, we'll see more unique instances with actual scenarios, good cutscenes, and other various gimmicks.

    Agree, even WoW has some amazing outdoor area's, Battle for Mount Hyjal was awesome, cataclysm had floating dungeons, underwater dungeons and dusty ruins etc.

    Hell just look at Karazhan both indoor and outdoors.

    The first dungeon in Rift is a big forest dungeon.

    This is the kind of standard stuff Elexia is referring to and funnily enough is much more unique than what we currently have.

    That being said I think the reason why our current dungeons are so copy and paste is because of development time and resources, its easy to reuse something than to build it from scratch especially when its not necessarily going to be around in 2.0

    I was more referring to the right picture (I didn't feel like photoshopping the left out). It seems pretty close to what you are asking for, down to being the ruins of an ancient city.

    How about lets NOT create more instances until we have more open world content.


    Also, if they do go on this instance rampage, they better make em stupidly complex where a few can get through the last stages. We also need mazes where you can get lost in and all that crap. Though either way an open world maze would be 100xs cooler
