Started playing again because of the glamour updates

I stopped playing '14 like... a week or so after I finished the MSQ. Unfortunately Dawntrail's story didn't hit for me, and it just... kinda robbed me of my desire to play the game at all. But, a year and a half(????) later, I heard about the glamour restrictions being lifted.

So predictably, I'm back! I started playing again a few weeks ago, caught up on the patch content, did the raids, got to listen to the absolute banger tracks, and had the chance to reconnect with the community again. And, well...

I'm glad I took my break. But, not for the reasons that you're probably expecting. I'm not gonna sit here and complain, there's already more than enough of that in these forums.

I'm glad I took my break because it let me come back to the game with a much clearer head. There's honestly a lot of good in this expansion, even for how much of a mess it is. I know I never would have seen any of it if I forced myself to play all that time.

The story was better than I thought it would be (though I did skip A Certain Someone's dialogue at the suggestion of a friend), and the dungeons were sick. I love the Yuweyawata one, I soooo wanna take some edgy screenshots in there. The raids are super cool, even if I suck at them. And I already mentioned the music. Sugar Riot and the Howling Blade's songs are stuck on repeat in my head. I haven't done the Alliance raids yet, though I'm looking forward to doing them!

Anyways, ya. I'm not sure what point I was really trying to reach here. I guess that sometimes taking a break from a game is the best way to rekindle your spark for it? Though I feel like that's obvious.

Long story short, I'm glad I took my break because it let me love the game again. I missed the game a lot, I missed my WoL, and I'm super excited to be back. Especially with 7.4 literally tomorrow as of writing this!! :D

My first will be putting Limbo Healing on my Bard. Holy Archer is something I always liked as a concept.

This is the only game that forces people to take a break, but not because of "burned mentality" but because it offers little to nothing in return of value. Glam changes were just a thing to see if they can make some people return. Some will, they'll see that nothing has changed, everything is the same and will quit sooner or later again.

If you liked Dancing Green's theme, there's an amazing video on Youtube that stitches all the phases together seamlessly and it's the best thing ever. THAT one is stuck in my head ever since it came out!
