That's exactly what happened. No one cares about this slop of a expansions story.

I'm hoping what we saw in the trailer and the prelim patch notes is us saying goodbye to Tural and the NPCs there. I need some time away from her. This is normally when we start seeing the new expansion leadup starting, too.

Wuk Lamat needs the ultimate sacrifice.
Make her die in a heroic deed or something. Maybe people will like her more.

Like Thanos she is inevitable.

I do lament that we never got to properly mentor her in a hands-on fashion. Be kinda neat too if Wuk inherited a trait based on our role and an accompanying line of dialogue to cement her learning from us. Don't mind being a secondary character, but the egregious absence of any point to us being present until the final battle really neglected how we could remain relevant.
Some other idle thoughts:-
* Being able to pick our initial promise is perhaps too ambitious but also would be excellent. For a more manageable version, winnow the choice between Koana and Wuk and adjust accordingly for how it changes, merging the two storylines once we get to the coronation (both the other two applicants ain't playing ball with foreigners). We could still have a fair number of scenes remain the same - e.g. Wuk always being the one to give the WoL the grand tour of Tural and retell her father's rise to power honestly seems very in keeping with Wuk's own telegraphed nature and in a scenario where we select Koana highlights how she holds her nation in higher esteem.
* Training montage. Set up the obstacle course via WoL, run through it as Wuk. In the above scenario, hold off on the montage until post coronation as something for the characters to do while the train is being rebuilt carrying its special package. (might have posted about this before, memory is poor)
* Shorten the duration of the 'Sphene hesitates and eyeballs/is eyeballed by the robot sentries'. Gimme a 'blink and you'll miss it' moment.
And other stuff. Already wittered on long enough and many have elaborated pretty eloquently on other threads.

Zenos didn't even have this much screentime in three expansions...
I'd rather have Asahi back at this point and I hate Asahi with a burning passion, but I'll welcome him with open arms.

S-tier character hope she comes back for 8.0

I love this take so much. We're the single most important political force on the star. Always overthrowing governments and installing allies instead.Typically, we overthrow a government and then instate one of our own. In this expansion, we instate Wuk Lamat and Koana, while in previous expansions we instated Jullus/Maxima/Lucia/etc, Chai-Nuzz, Raubahn, Hien and Aymeric, respectively, to each of the governments we overthrew.
I really enjoyed her in the first half of the expac, but it's true that starting with Heritage Found, she was overused to the point it became annoying. Several plots revolved around her rather than the characters with actual emotional or logical connection to that plot. The second thing really is that it is ultimately a point of view whether Wuk Lamat was annoying. For example, personally, I felt a good relationship with her in a story sense. It was a bit odd for her to come along to Heritage Found with us, and the worst part was breaking free when we were defeating the last boss since that's our thing and she didn't have that sort of experience yet. They did make her answer things that would be better answered by us or the scions due to our experience, but not entirely at least.
It feels like something that could be fixed if the story devs wanted to. I wouldn't mind seeing Wuk Lamat get some more development, but not at the cost of everyone else we travel with, not again.
