Blue mage to me wouldn't be what it was without the challenges behind it, it took me forever to get all the spells, and I think about 8 hours straight on carnival to get the umbrella, but all that behind it really gave it a identity to me. The job where you worked to get it complete, not handed to you on a platter.

I did write you on previous thread, but how you cannot complete it? It's not that hard if you have all spells or at least the good ones like Nightbloom, Being Mortal and so on. High dps spells help a lot here for 2nd part where hands come. This way you can one shot hands and not worry about their effects. Then you do diamond back to survive the tank hit (can quickcast it). Also watch guides. I did struggle here but only because my spells were so bad and fight was dragged on. I suggest sonic boom because it's a great dps for one of those hands. With strong aoes and magic breath, it's going to be easy.

Also take mimicry to healer / tank if you need more avoidance. Do not use mighty guard or it lowers dps greatly. Can use moonflute to kill hands faster and then quick diamond back when needed.

Likewise, just get good spells and open party finder to create your own blue farming group or find others. It will be hard since almost no one is doing it but you can try and spam cities for help. I had to spam every city /shout to get people in to help. Once you get good spells, those carnival things go fast. Also watch youtube guide, they help a lot.

If it was easy it wouldn't be an accomplishment, it would just be a chore.

I don't believe the blue mage fights have an enrage timer. They do have DPS checks for some add phases, but you can toggle mighty guard on and off if you really have a hard time not getting hit. Equipping Blood Suck to restore your MP if you use too many white winds can help too.

BLU is no joke, but eh I haven't come across anything "impossible" to me yet. Some difficult ones yes. Granted I've paused my BLU progression at lv70, am taking a break from it for now.
The Carnival is certainly unlike anything else in this game, which is honestly something I wish there was more of. Difficult as it may be regardless.

29 has been eluding me for years. I'm so glad you can skip it, and continue, and don't get punished for cards. I litterally did the Blue Mage only for TT cards. With one card being locked behind FTB which is basically low savage, I won't bother with card anymore, so won't probably bother with blue.

Little story for everyone, it's long though so only read it if you want to XD

I'd stopped my BLU at level 64, not 70 (forgot earlier). I only did up to stage 25 of the Carnivale, so I never tried the infamous stage 29.. That said, I do think I'm reasonably decent when it comes to Boss mechs so I gave it a try. Note that my BLUE is sitting in lv60 Shire gear.

    • I watched a youtube vid to see what I was getting myself in to. Lots of mechs but nothing struck me as infeasable at first glance...
    • I gave it a go with a main loadout of Sonic Boom & Electrogenesis (for primary dps on each), Flying Sardine, Diamondback, and Exuviation to handle certain mechs, Bristle for burst dmg when avaialble, and White Wind for heals. That's IT, nothing else (not even Mimicry, hadn't gotten it yet).
    • I beat the first boss on attempt #2. He's easy, I can fight him in my sleep honestly, all his mechs are simple once you know what they are and his pattern is 100% static (as in it's not random at all. He will ALWAYS do the same attacks in the same order)
    • The second boss was the same at first until the hands spawned. They wiped the floor with me. This repeated in a few more tries as I tried to burst them down but just simply could not.
I decided to do some much needed preparations to give me an edge:
    • I got Aetheric Mimicry in order to mimic DPS to burst down the hands more easily
    • I went and got Shock Strike to even further add to my burst DPS capabilities on the hands

I went back in to give it another go....
On my 3rd time against the hands, I finally found the way to do it:
    • Make sure to be facing north (check via minimap) when he starts casting to spawn in the hands
    • Position on the right-hand side since that's where "Left Hand" will spawn .. this one needs to die first since otherwise it'll drain all MP and you die
    • Cast Brittle while he's spawning them and the literal second the hand appears target it and Shock Strike followed by 2x Electrogenesis >>> the Left Hand will die
    • Immediately White Wind since your HP will be around half, then swap to Right Hand and hit him with 2 Electrogenesis
    • Swap to the Boss and interrupt his swing else it'll knock you into the outer electric ring and you die
    • Immediately swap back to Right Hand and cast until it's dead, at which time you should have enough time to do another round of White Wind to heal back to full and Diamondback since the main Boss will now use his smasher which kills you if you're not protected

After that it's a matter of dodging well, interrupting when necessary, healing and managing MP. the hands were the only truly difficult mech in the whole fight
All this to say it's do-able, though it is certainly not easy. GL people O.o
