Please allow for housing to be downgraded to smaller sizes in 7.5

I see in the 7.5 plans the larger layout plans exist, could those of us be allowed to downsize ?
The large house layout is not well suited to a normal home, being able to have a medium interior in a large house would be great.

I'm not inherently against this, but why did you spend so much more for a large plot if you didn't want the large interior? Exterior decoration is very limited in terms of variety and both volume and types of decoration so I find it a bit odd that you'd cough up for a mansion if you didn't actually want a mansion.

I buy property according to the view from the property and special things like being directly on a beach or plaza, having no neighbour, there are small's, medium's and large's that I hold equally in liking of location, it just so happens that the best location I managed to get was a large however medium and small's exist I'd be just as happy with.

Generally for a large, if you want to make it like a home, you have to have a fake exit somewhere and enter through a wall, medium, small and apartments don't have this issue.

I see, completely fair then. Thank you for the explanation. Let it be known I wasn't grilling or looking down on you, I was just genuinely curious. I agree this is something they should allow, as plot location and exterior size are going to have value regardless. For example I own a small in the Goblet solely because it's next to the waterfall, and I wouldn't trade that for any other plot regardless of size or location so I understand your stance completely. Others simply want a large for the sake of having the large and don't care much about where it is, so the opposite can be true too. Giving us more freedom for decoration can only be good in my opinion.

"I bought large so I can gatekeep people who actually want one". Yeah, people always go with excuses of "it's the best plot". Meanwhile "i just wanted a small one" but will compete for large because you know, you can. If you want a small one, there's plenty around you.

Almost everyone with a mansion who cares about decorating has to block off large parts of the interior to get a reasonable level of detail in the rest. Raising the item limit will help them, but the medium interior is a lot easier to work with. I can certainly see someone wanting to go down a size.

On a separate note, we shared an update about upcoming housing updates. The increased outdoor and indoor furnishing limits are in the final phase of adjustments and server optimizations, with implementation scheduled for Patch 7.5. As for the feature to expand housing interiors regardless of plot size, the system is complete but also requires optimization, so we're currently working on increasing the furnishing placement limit first.

Up until that, they were going to do them at the same time, which is why many of us assumed the slot increase was taking so long, since this was the third delay. But it’s unclear from this whether they’re still aiming for both at the same time and that’s why they’re waiting until 7.5, or whether we possibly get the item increase at 7.5 launch, and the interior size change at like 7.55 or something.

Unless they said something in yesterday’s Live Letter to further clarify… otherwise I don’t think we’ll hear much more about it til the Live Letters ahead of 7.5.
