wdym the hyur have normal proportions tho? if you mean how their necks and hands being much larger, that's a shared problem with all races in ffxiv.
Also OP if you want to change your ears you can buy the old event werewolf's ears in the cash shop and wear it then find true peace already.

Races? If anything we need more faces for each race. And we need more beard options for all races.
I remember way back when Hrothgar were first announced Yoshi-P went off about how "highly-customizable" they were gonna be and one of the faces was going to be "doglike". Or something along those lines, I think it might have been a weird translation.
I love the Ronso but Hrothgar are definitely not as cool as they were in FFX, and I kind of wish they had gone a more canine route so there wouldn't be that weird overlap with Miqo'te. It's funny that they had the Lupin right there but decided to go with cats again. Granted if they did go with Lupin they'd really need to rework them to look less like Hyur with wolf heads.
Honestly though, I'd prefer no more new races until Viera and Hrothgar have the hair and hat situation fully resolved, and even so I'd prefer all the other races to have more customization options instead.

More faces, not races.
Bring back 6.0 Dragoon.

In terms of race suggestions, I'll direct my suggestion more to a beast tribe and mobs.
After seeing a several iterations of the Mamool Ja from FFXI, I would really like to see the Orcs from FFXI as part of the world in FFXIV.

I think they should add a third tribe to races than a whole new one. That would give us something new while not have to come up with a new race.
Hyur: Husky/plus size? Like Kul Tiran from WoW.
Elzean: Hyur/Elezen breed. Size of Midlander Hyur but with Elezan features. And a slightly shorter necks than the other Elezen tribes.
Roegadyn: Galka based from FFXI. With a female model.
Miqota: Mithra based from FFXI. just a tad taller than the other tribes.
Lalafell: Same sizes, but different toned bodies. Males have build like Krillin from DBZ, females are more shapely figure.
Au Ra: Female are taller than the males. different horns and scales.
Viera: Muscular and same sizes. barbarians like
Hrothgar: RED XIII based. Slimer and brighter colors selection.

i love my hrothgirl but i would switch to lupin in a heartbeat if they gave them some love. :3
Given the opportunity I would introduce the Gria (referencing FFTA2), between the heights of Hyur and Lalafell, and give the race the Viera treatment: Males and females could exist, but the ones we've seen thus far are depicted as female, and rather than have the males act as pariah or outwardly protectors and travelers, we could say most of the males were eradicated during wartime or some other calamity and the presence of them as well as the forwardness of the race in general (in appearing before myriad races of Eorzea) indicates that the race is recovering and prospering again. We have three races that have tails that poke through their armor, and the Gria's wings could be large enough to sustain flight and poke through the armor without complicating character models as they have been presented thus far. It would be a unique eye-catching race that could fly without the needs for a steed, but that ability should be established post-ARR settings, so not immediately after "My Little Chocobo"; flight should be allowed once the MSQ is progressed far enough for it. Attuned flight, first established in HW, should be allowed after all nodes have been collected and completed, at which point the Gria should be allowed to fly with their own wings. Before that, jumping animations with flexing and flapping wings would be the ideal formula.
Considering how cookie-cut and repetitive the expansions have been getting, with much anticipated promise and much delayed delivery, I think the race is a perfect mold-breaker. There is one compelling argument to be made against them, and that is that the Au Ra already fulfill a 'dragon-esque' role with their horns and tails in spite of their scale designs resembling that of fish than of pure dragon (and we've already gone through the narrative exposition where the Elezen of Ishgard carry the potential to become dragons given the proper catalyst). If design changes had to be made so that they aren't one-to-one with Au Ra, then remove the Gria tails or make them stubs as they are depicted in their referenced artwork. If Au Ra already fulfill the role that Gria do, from the developers' collective standpoint, then we won't get Gria. My reason for suggesting it in the first place is that it is a unique race that hails from the Tactics games, as do the Ivalice raids in general, and their introduction and aforementioned mechanics would generate intrigue. I'm not hellbent on having them, but I am most certainly suggesting them as a viable race to shake up the foundation and lull that the game has fallen into.
