Portable Orchestrion in non-battle / non-mount zones

Yes yes, I know the topic's been brought up before in general, put away your pitchforks trolley trolls O.o I know people are constantly wanting a portable song player so they don't have to listen to the boring Crescent Occult theme one more time. Honestly I'm one of those people, that song is seared into my brain and it makes me want to shoot my own foot.

In any case my understanding is that the game's terrible audio engine only has 2 channels for BMG where the secondary one takes over in special circumstance (mount or battle theme). This makes it particularly difficult to implement something new in most areas due to how closed minded the engine is presently, eh what can you do the system's more than 10 years old. Here's the part I'm curious about though, was it ever considered to implement a portable orchestrion available to use only in non-battle / non-mount zones? In other words, in major towns and possibly a few other unique scenarios.

Anyway it was just an idea that popped into my head. Odds are they'll never bother, even though I do believe the addition of something like this would actually give some value to the bajillion song rolls they try to sell for 3-5 bucks in the cash shop XD. Then again, with implementation it's always a question of "how much work" and "is it worth" rather than "is it possible" so maybe they'll see some value in it someday?

Feel like this could be a good feature. I would suggest they wouldn't do a test run start with vehicles like the Motorcycles, Cars, Magitek Armor, where it wouldn't be uncommon to find the orchestration. Then bring it to more later

PC players solve this problem with BGM 0 and a YouTube channel, but I'm all for parity between the two systems.

This is reminding me of when I'd do stuff like put on an 'extended' FFXI campaign battle theme on loop in the background when I was Fate grinding, because when I first started way back in the day, Fates reminded me of campaign battles. I'm feeling nostalgic now. xD

Oh of course I do the same (I'm PC player actually), either that or I have a show/movie up playing on the side (dual-screen setup here). It's certainly solveable via other methods, I just thought it'd be nice to have something in-game that's lore-friendly and also allows for a simpler method of enjoying all the Orchestrion Rolls you acquire. Personally that whole music system feels a bit wasted being that you can only listen to them at your Estate or in an Inn, both places most people, I imagine, don't spend much time in.

Edit: Actually I was happy to learn you could select Orchestrion when at the Island getaway, but then saddened once again to find out it only worked within close proximity to the main resort. Why they didn't make it Island-wide is beyond my understanding :/
