The JRPG elements in the story isn't bad even if some stuff feels like its recycled and rinse repeat. It can still work but it wont work when the writing is poor.

@shinku
This MSQ keeps feeling increasingly inconsistent, almost as if the story is being made up along the way. For example, the Geode character has had unlimited ammo throughout the entire storyline, yet suddenly runs out at a very specific moment seemingly just to force the pacing. It creates scenes where characters can’t decide whether to walk slowly or run, and it ends up feeling unintentionally awkward. The same with the enemies in that cutscene one moment they can only walk like slow zombies but nope now they can run etc etc etc. It's just all over the place. Chatgpt can do it better.
I can't believe I've had to dig my own forum account for this of all things. But this just set me off. AI can not do better, AI does not have the nuances or practice that a human does. AI frequently makes errors and cannot even emulate the FRACTION of emotion or basic reading comprehension that a human does. You suggesting this proves you are so chronically online you can't even see the forest for the trees.

regardless of what your opinion is about AI the current writing is just not it. hence why I matched it with just as sloppy quality of AI.
While I am on that subject. How about I throw you a challenge. You think you can do better. Make an AO3 account and write your own fanfic on how you would do things? And I'm not talking about just Dawntrail I mean from back to front. ARR to current. You can not cheat you can not use AI. You want to talk up your own ass about how better you are and how the devs need to take accountability? Do it yourself.

Appreciate the enthusiasm but my post was critiquing the writing, not other players.
If you disagree, that’s fine. Let’s just keep it about the story instead of trying to psychoanalyze strangers on a game forum.
If the MSQ ever becomes as dramatic as your reply, I might enjoy it more.
Anyway back to discussing the narrative, not each other.
This message was not written with the help of AI.

@RCPersonaXIV
I never claimed I could rewrite the entire game, nor do I need to in order to express an opinion about the MSQ.
Criticism doesn’t require creating an alternative product it just requires noticing when something doesn’t land.
You’re free to enjoy the writing, and I’m free to feel it’s inconsistent.
That’s the whole point of a discussion forum.

Nothing to dodge I have nothing to prove to you.
I’m here to discuss the problems many of us see is wrong with dawntrail, not trade personal insults.
If you want to keep making it personal, that’s on you.
I’m done engaging. Hey, it’s fine to disagree. Have a good one while the rest of us continue.

You know the debate has reached rock bottom when people are going for the trite fallacy of equating critique/appreciation of an artwork with skill to actually generate said artwork...While I am on that subject. How about I throw you a challenge. You think you can do better. Make an AO3 account and write your own fanfic on how you would do things? And I'm not talking about just Dawntrail I mean from back to front. ARR to current. You can not cheat you can not use AI. Like for real, because we're not professional writers we can't appreciate the writing now?
Secretly had a crush on Mao
