Bards in Final Fantasy XIV have recently been adjusted to focus more on party support and defense rather than being strong damage dealers. Many players feel that these changes have made bards less effective in combat situations, so yes this is wronge a real bards not partys stronge there solo stronge supose to be dev stop screwing bards

Bards have never been hunters in 14. I don't know what changes you're talking about. The only time they reduced BRD's raid damage buff output (in ShB), people complained BRD lost their iconic buffs behind songs and it got reverted back one patch later. BRD has always been the heavy raid buffer and support it is since the dawn of time, because that's what a singer does.

Bards, and by extension the "ranged physical role" of Machinist and Dancer, have always been "support" in this game. It's why Bard used to have the following: Peloton (speed buff), MP regen song, TP regen song, an Esuna (Warden's), a damage buff song, and a number of damage reduction/HP increase type party buffs.

Dancer has a party damage reduction, party damage buff, multiple party-wide heals, and shares Peloton etc.

Now, in 2025, many other DPS have party support actions like this, such as MNK, RPR, SMN, RDM, because like everything SE has homogenized things. But make no mistake. Bard and its ranged physical role was the original "support role" in this game since the beginning and did not become that recently.
