Back in ARR it was 3 dungeons per patch. And while I understand not wanting to overwork your staff, the reduction of the amount of new dungeons was a negative for DR expert, as we see now.

personally, I would love if DR: Expert was instead a weekly-rotating selection of dungeons (one of each expansion), upscaled to current character/item level. One of the arguments that were made for the removal of new dungeons per patch was that FFXIV already has a lot of dungeons. So I'd say lets keep putting them to good use.

Increasing the number of dungeons really does not resolve the issue if they all still play the same
I have a feeling we'll see a new record if the next expansion releases in March 2027 or later. Just imagine doing the same 2 dungeons for almost 2 years. Of course, with the safest possible design: 6 mob packs and 3 bosses... We can't have interesting jobs either to make the content fun, due to harder duties such as Savages and Ultimates. It's no wonder Yoshi-P is talking about a rebirth.
Yeah its abyssmalThere is always 1 dungeon in there that remains in there for 9 months minimum. The final dungeon of the expansion remains in there for over a year.
This never used to happen. We used to get 2 new dungeons in it every 3.5 months. By 3 months, it was beginning to make me a bit sick, and that's when the new patch would release to switch it up.
But now? It's 9 months of the same thing and doing it for that long makes me physically sick. The only way to cope with doing it is to switch jobs or flat out avoid it.
It makes it better if you instead queue for Level Cap roulette, or Mentor Roulette, because there is more variety. This is why, due to the reduction in dungeon development and increase in patch cycle length, many of us have been saying they should merge Level Cap and Expert roulette together.
But nobody will read this or listen or make it better. This post will just go into a void and never be acknowledged by anyone or addressed, even by 12.0, despite what Yoshi-P just said:

I really miss all the dungeons and whatnot we got back in the ARR days.
People would always explain away about how it was "actually better" that we were getting less in the Stormblood, Shadowbringers, Endwalker days.
But I really miss and enjoyed all the stuff every patch came packed with back then. Better days.
I'm glad I don't do roulette anymore after relic grind. Extremely boring to do when you constantly get same things. Same as mentor roulette. It's not for "mentors" it's just serving as a filler role so you get queued for things that are dead and fill their roles that they need.
