Will Bot's ever be punished?

Is there any reason not to bot at present?

Several Players are notorious for botting accross several servers yet regardless of the number of gm calls made to report them none are ever punished.

an example on my server is a blm whos goes afk and like clockwork casts resonance flare every 5 mins to farm items. i know many people who have reported him but everyday he's back in the same place with no fear of ever being punished. the same goes with the crafting bots, fishing bots and so many others.

it's in such a ridiculous state that people do it so blatently and never get any kind of punishment. so i ask. is there any reason not to?

i'd love to see gm's clamp down on this heavily. just one fell swoop of blanket bans even for 48 hours on a first offence i think would be enough to stop alot of botters and send a clear message that it won't be tollerated rather than the current message of we couldn't care less.

They have to be 100% sure the person is using 3rd party tools, etc etc etc.

I'm sure the GMs will be more "apparent" when the game relaunches.

Reporting in-game is the incorrect place to submit a bot investigation ticket. Those tickets will most likely go unaddressed.

Crafting and gathering bots are difficult to determine as there are language barriers, players who are on 12~18 hours a day doing the deed watching TV on the side, and some players who are sick of replying to everyone that suspects them of being a bot. Some of them may sneak in a hardware device like special keyboard or mouse, taking advantage of unattended gameplay-like features. Others may genuinely be botting, it's difficult to determine.

And a lot of them RMT suspects are not running full blown botting software. It's usually one runner who sends the signal to all his vessels and even then, you'll see that his/there work isn't flawless and sometimes takes longer than one would suspect.

But then you'll see some twitchy headed exorist-style sumbiches. Report them to the Special Task Force twice if you have, cause these mofos fallin' off the train.

I see a few players botting/cheating at one of the Brutal sheep camps in Coerthas. Reporting doesn't seem to work because the "rmt special task force" doesn't seem to care. They had no problem wrongly banning all those people on FFXI though.

They aren't bothering my gameplay experience in any way so it doesn't really bother me. If people want to let the game play itself, that's their loss.

You say that now but it might lead to a economic crash and burn if rampant rmt botting persists too long.

RMT in XIV hahah, who would buy money in a game that is so plentiful? XI you were hard pressed to make money. here its thrown at you. the devs know this so they are keeping the subscription money while these RMT make no return
