    I couldn't agree more. I keep seeing people on here and on reddit saying they gonna unsubscribe because game isn't playable. My concern is that may very well be what the attacker wants. It would go a LONG way with the playerbase if SE could just talk to us about what is going on, what they've learned, and what fixes they trying. At the very leastz it might rekindle peoples faith and keep them from leaving.

    They've only said one thing and it's been a week since they were "looking into it". The feeling everyone is getting right now is that SE is just ignoring the problem and hoping it will go away. Well the players are also going to "go away" fairly soon since nothing is being done. This has been going on for a week now and looks like it is approaching the two week mark. Players can't do the deep dungeon without losing progress. Players crafting keep losing their materials now because of the DDOS. Dungeons and Raids are a mess. Players doing savage content have all apparently given up now. It's demoralizing for the players. Why subscribe to a game that you can hardly play at times?

    I'd just like to clarify that the issues me, InfernoCop and others on Materia are facing is separate to the DDOS attacks going on. We've been dealing with these disconnects in the months since 7.3 released, not just the last couple of weeks, and the root cause of it (based on the investigation I've done, limited as it is) is likely an overloaded node in Telstra/NTT's networking that intermittently cuts out (which I believe SE is much better equipped to communicate with the relevant ISPs than individual consumers are).

    Resolving the DDOS attacks likely isn't going to resolve these Patch 7.3 DC issues (god I hope they do though).

    it's absolutely an NTT node. notorious for being awful, they were also causing issues back in april with the release of 7.2 but they got swiftly fixed. there's a whirlpool forum thread detailing this exact same issue happening.

    My biggest concern is what will happen in the big picture if ffxiv gets completely destroyed by this ddos nonsense. Once it's shown that you CAN bring down games this way, it will inspire others to do this kind of stuff to other games. Eventually, the entire gaming industry will look at the situation and ask themselves, why should we invest time and money to develop and maintain multiplayer games and mmos if they can be ddos into oblivion at any time and there's no defense?

    If that happens, it will have colossal implications for the entire gaming scene. No more mmos, valornt, roblox, or whatever you're into. It will be reduced to nothing but offline, single player games because that's all that will be viable. Why should companies take such a colossal risk and investment making anything else?

    Hell, even steam could be ddos, and then we would be back to physical CDs. I don't want to see the gaming industry thrown back to the 1990s. Like it or not, ffxiv is on the Frontlines of a fight that could have huge ramifications for the entire gaming industry!

    Popping in to say that I'm in Sephirot and now experiencing the same thing since switching ISPs. I was with Optus and I was fine, but after switching to Dodo, I'm constantly disconnecting and being unable to reconnect for a time. My internet connection in general is fine, but not with ffxiv.

    I'm curious if anyone on Materia with this problem is using an ISP other than Dodo? I'm on them as well, and I've seen the name pop up a lot on forums around this issue.
