Payement for a world transfer: Steam Wallet not possible?

Hello All

I come with something different today.

Subjet: I want to transfer my alt from Odin to Twintania (where I have my main).

Issue: When I apply for a home world transfer via the mog station, everything goes trouble free up to payement. At payement, my problem is that the option Steam (Wallet) isn't available (I play via Steam).

My questions:
- Is Steam Wallet really not available as a payement method for home world transfer?
- If not and that I pay with credit card instead of Steam, will the world transfer be recognized/work by/with Steam after that?

Note that my Steam wallet has enough money to cover the payement, so it can't be the reason preventing Steam wallet to be used.

There are conflicting answers online, but it seems transfers are an exception that can't use the Steam Wallet, for whatever reason.

Transfering character is independent of which platform(s) you have a license for. To give an example, it's possible to have both the Playstation and PC licenses of the game, but the character transfer is independent of these two platforms.

Ok, All, in case it can help others, I got confirmation by doing the experience myself.

Issue: Purchasing a home world transfer when having a FFXIV Steam account.

- Confirmed: Steam Wallet is NOT an available payement method for a home world transfer.

- Confirmed: Credit Card works trouble free.

- Confirmed: There is NO compatibility problem. After the transfer is done (paid with credit card), Steam will run the game with everything correct.

- Confirmed: We shall NOT login into the game AT ALL. We MUST wait until the confirmation email telling that the transfer is completed.

For info: They say that it can take some minutes up to a few hours. In my case, it was done within 5 minutes. To be on the safe side, I waited 10 more minutes before to login into Steam and ran the game: Everything was perfect.

Was quite a shock. Inability to pay for such an elementary service through a Steam Wallet, I mean.
Sorry to bother you after all this time, but is there any news about changes? Unfortunately I don't have a credit card. And surely, making an alt is out of the question, too...

The restriction is only on Steam wallet and still as is today. However, all other payement methods are available: Crysta, Credit Card, Paypal and partially Paysafecard too (in some regions only). I do hope one of those is OK for you.

An alternative I can suggest: Someone could assist you by paying with his/her own credit card (just for this purchase, don't save it as your payement method) and you pay him/her back with cash in real life? I have used this method once. It was not very convenient to bother someone with that, but worked trouble free.

Yeah, considered this option as an alternative and call a friend... Well, let's see what we can do. Although I'm still curious about the reason for this restriction.

I suspect it is because Steam provides a game license only, but World Transfers are an additional service.

Agree. There are other additional services for which Steam Wallet is working. For info, out of curiosity, I asked google IA for the reason and got following answer.

To be honest, am not sure to understand clearly what is meant with "... bypass the Steam checkout interface". But it looks like it will not change soon... LOL
